Nice stuff in here, real nice! Time to get my finger out and get my place in order!

Props to the Luxman too, got a K322 kicking about somewhere in storage myself - not quite 30 years old, maybe 16 :)

Made a few changes to my setup recently, still not in the most optimum room (the loft), but it suits me perfectly for now.

The setup consists of:

Meadowlark Audio Kestrel Hot Rod speakers
Bel Canto S300iUSB Integrated Amplifier (150wpc of class D goodness)
Bel Canto DAC3
Yamaha CD-S1000 (used as a CD transport into the DAC)
Pioneer BD-LX71 Blu Ray player
Samsung BDC-8900M Blu-ray player/500GB HDD recorder/HD Freeview Tuner
Samsung UE32B6000 32 inch LED TV
Trichord Research 500 mains filter
Xbox 360
Fujitsu Siemens Esprime E500 HTPC (won't bore you with full specs)

Out of shot is the desk I can also use the PC with, wireless keyboard and mouse and a Samsung SA350 27 inch LCD screen.

There are also various other tweaky bits and cables, including sorbothane feet and extra granite shelves :o

I also got the rack from Ebay, its an Apollo Mezzo Soprano AV rack, I got a good deal on it second hand from a chap in Stoke who wanted one that was even wider! I paid £200 for the lot, but I have two extra shelves from what I'm using in the picture above, spiked feet, castors, and a variety of extra supports that are not being used, so I can change the height and configuration to suit my setup as it changes over time as it is totally modular. I totted up the cost of all the parts I have, these racks are very high quality and the price reflects this, I would have had to pay just under £700 for everything I bought had I got it from new!

Best hifi in this entire thread by a mile arad85. Very, very nice setup. If only I have the money and the room for DBL's.... I recently downgraded my setup to a uniti and n-sats but I still love it.

Thanks Dave :D

Just as well we live in a detached house... I'd hate to be a neighbour of mine - sometimes you just don't realise how loud it actually is ;)

Where did you get it? If I could get it in black I'm sold! haha

Edit: Very nice set-up btw!
Local shop. They are -or at least were - widely available (saw it in Leekes which is a department store close to where I live). I'll try and dig out the receipt and see what the make is...

Thanks - took me a while to get here, but have only felt a need to upgrade the DAC in the last 11 years ;)

That's some serious kit on this page. Nice one chaps. Would love to hear both of those setups. Being fair, have heard DBLs and those Meadowlarks before, both impressed me, though clearly they have different presentation styles.

Nice to see some high end kit in here!

Here is my effort, slightly 'mid-fi' next to a lot of what's in here!

Amazing what you can get second hand on the auction site. I paid £230 each for the 8000P's and £200 for the 8000Q. That's less than the price of a new 8200A integrated and it's all immaculate. The speakers were only £180 as they were collect only from Hull and ended at some odd hour of the day.

It all sounds great considering the PC is used as a source (WASAPI Foobar though optical to a DAC Magic). Next upgrade needs to be a better DAC!

Spent some more time working on the luxman over the last 2 weeks. Changed the old Elna PSU filter caps out for some mundorf 15,000uF replacements and decoupled them with some smaller 100nF epcos caps. THe new PSU caps made a huge difference to the LF response, much better than before.

I also added some decoupling to each transformer winding with another 3 100nF caps.

Replaced the rectifying bridge diodes with some higher rated ultra fast ST parts.

Also replaced most of the signal path resistors with new metal film and the mylar (polyester) film caps with polypropylene. (still waiting for the polystyrene caps to arrive from the supplier)

Last change was the OPamp in the phonostage which was a NJM2043D which i changed out for a burr brown OPA2134 with a socket to make future changes easier. (This produced a remarkable change in sound, much smoother with less sibilance)

Still need to replace the bias trimpots with sealed units and modify the front light circuit to suit LED's. Also got a design for a power amp in the works to be built later this year. Still in the preliminary design phase atm.

Unfortunately i have an odd shaped lounge with a balcony door in the way. So all Hi-Fi related stuff is in my tiny den. The den makes anything below about 150Hz... interesting.. Hence the headphones.
