Windows Phone 8 lock screen on a 920 with a news feed. With the double tap to wake, it's ruddy superb. Oh the Bing background changes everyday as well.

Apex Pro - to allow 1x1 widget in the dock
UCCW to make a 1x1 clock and the date/battery pop up
and Pop up widget to actually do the pop up action as twist3d0n3 says the youtube tutorial explains how that works well.

Ahhh I use Nova Launcher not Apex. I was thinking of doing this set up for the nexus 5 but seeing as it has on screen Nav keys it would prob look pants
 
Just joined the Apex Beta group (as I've paid for Apex Pro already) so I can get the Transparent goodness!! :D
