I think Communist China is going down a similar path to the British empire. We started off as a trading empire and then gradually we turned to trying to force our will on certain countries so we'd get better deals. But the difference between Britain and China is we knew when to fight and went to retreat. A good fighter knows when to quit before disaster.

The way they are treating countries that are asking to investigate the origins of the covid virus is a sign of their temperament. They had signed a trade agreement with Australia. But as soon as they questioned the covid origins China starts putting trade sactions against its own trading partner.

I hope that China decides on a constructive rather than a destructive path in the future.
 
But unlike the British empire, China is run a commie dictator and it will probably go the same way as the USSR.

Any country signing a trade deal with China is crazy.
 
I'm surprised there wasn't a photo opportunity of Putin straddled across one of the alleged dropped bombs while wearing a gold chain & being bare chested.

The other two participants (Biden and Jinping) don't realise how dangerous their genitalia waving is. They're trying to provoke each other into making the first move. Who d'you think'd back down first (don't forget, they're the three most powerful countries in the world and neither of them can afford to back off becuase they know how they'll look on the international stage).
They're like kids trying to outdo each other with who's got the best military themed toys or drunken thugs squaring up to each other in a pub.
It's all about national ego and face.

Is there or has there ever been a true commie country ?? Like most it runs into a closed wealth shop for those that agree with the party.

I'm pretty sure it's run by a Communist government and can't find anything to say otherwise, unless I missed something major happening in Chinese history?

It's impossible to have a "true" communist country because all people aren't exactly 100% equal, which is what "true" communism requires to work, that every single person is exactly equal with everyone else yet we all know that's impossible. There will always be those who crave power and/or wealth etc therefore, as has been proven every single time "true" communism has been tried (killing nearly 100 million in the process so far) it has failed specifically because of those power/wealth hungry people. Even China recognised this fact which is why it switched to a hybrid communism/capitalism model in the 80's and the communist party in charge has been reaping the benefits for over decade, just not "all" the people obviously.
 
Looks like China and Russia are going to do what they want and nobody will intervene.

Sad to be honest, but we are a mess the EU don't care and Biden is too fragile to get involved.

Bye Taiwan, bye HK, bye Crimea, goodbye South China Sea Islands.

I mean we didn't even boycott Chinese goods over Covid...

Also when you factor in the huge capital investment programs if China in Africa/South America no one there is going to support action against China.

They bought the world! Including USA's debt.

Just like other commie countries. The people at the top live by a different system than the plebs. Which is why they all fail.

China and Russia will keep expanding outwards if no one blocks them. One day they may be on our doorstep.

I think its fair to say that Russia's actions over the past few years are actually about saving face - and trying to be seen as a power still - their influence is much smaller than it has been in the past 75 years.
Conventional military superiority is lost to them (except at their own back door), they are crippled financially and can't even get out of the group stages of the Euro's.

Nothing that is going on in the world is different from what it has always been - the real threat will come from a country with ideological reasons for supremacy - not economic ones.

This is spot on, Russia know they could never stand a full war against the western countries, yes they have superiority in some weapon aspects, I hear there high altitude anti-aircraft missiles are something worrying but then i guess that comes from years of development against the SR-71, but with the invention of military grade satellites there is no need to fly aircraft over their territory. I know china have missile tech to shoot down LEO satellites but i would imagine in a full scale war USA could replace their satellites a lot quicker than both China and Russia. Now USA for force projection i believe would obliterate China and Russia, their subs can dive deeper and are quieter than both, meaning destroyers and carriers could fight a surface battle, if USA could get close enough to launch EMP attacks on China, which they would because it negates their air superiority on home turf and it causes minimal casualties. I also thing that India would help with any land battles, meaning that the added man power of the Chinese army would be met with force if they tried to march their way out of their country.

In all any war between the majors powers would be a proxy war involving more smaller conflicts in places such as korea, africa and most likely the middle east.
