Project - Blueboy - Watercooled Lian Li v2000

I told you once already that those fans are the bees knees...so get em already!!! Love what you did with the uv led strips looks great in pics and probably a lot better in person!!!

I think the gelid wings are going to happen at some point. I'm toying with the idea of dual sr1 420's in the bottom, depends on my next gpu setup though.

Very smart! Im inspired by water-cooled machines but I don't have the confidence to build one myself, lol. Water + Electric = not good :(

Thanks, it's not as hard to do as it may seem. Just read a lot and don't be afraid to ask questions and be patient.

Little update, got some of the ek uv blue liquid will add this when i decide about a possible graphics upgrade :)

Going to go for an Ek 6990 nickel plexi (en) block,

still debating wether or not to go dual loop but will be adding another 420 or 280 rad to cool the beast.

errrrrm YES to the UV flexlights
I'm gonna have to get me some of those!

Although I intend to upgrade to mayhems aurora coolant soon so UV will be undesirable...

Can you cut the phobya kits to length?

So I removed the 5870, made a CPU only loop, fitted the 6990 and ax850 psu. All was fine played some dirt 3 and ran heaven a few times then was reading some forums and the pc shuts down and now it won't start up !! The mobo power and reset buttons are lit up but it won't power up. I'll put the 5870 back in later and try with my hx620 when I get home, fingers crossed.

I don't think you can, they come in 3 different lengths 30cm 60cm and 120cm.

Well got home from work and it's working again  The psu has a whine to it though in certain situations. Currently trying different combinations of power saving options in the bios but it's still doing it!!!

And to top it off when i opened up my old ek fc5870 nickel acetal block, guess what i found?

I don't need this today i have man flu and i'm dying!!

Sent my rma request hopefully i can get the 6990 block i want instead.

Heres the psu, still trying to kill the idle buzzing it's pretty annoying.

The 6990 is a huge card, dwarfs my 5870.

This psu shuts it's fan off when idle, was one of the reasons i picked it. If I still havn't figured out how to make it stop buzzing by tomorrow i'm going to get a replacement. Thankfully the shop i got it from is only 5 mins away.

Well if your having trouble I can look after your 6990 for you ;)

Shame about the PSU, does sound like its busted. My AX850 makes no noticable noise at all and I never notice the fan running. Hopefully the RMA sorts it out for you.

is it the coil whining noise or fan?

Re: the waterblock, EK are now asking from many customers to "clean" the block before RMA. (I saw the ek rep saying it in XS) Saying many of the issues which seem to be nickel flacking is actually a false positive, that it is some things in the loop that makes the block "look" like it is flacking but it is normal.
I had my cpu block(full nickel) opened last month and I had the same issue, and I tried cleaning before asking for RMA but it was still nickel flacking.
But RMA went well, they received my block in 2 days when I posted using RM and got my refund for the postage as well. Sent a replacement with in 2 days of RMA receiving the block but it took about 10 working days for me to get the block by their shipping method.

The buzz is deffinately from the psu, it buzzes in time with mouse wheel movements on web pages and in most desktop stuff. Retried with my hx620 and no buzzing either. On another note this upgrade has somehow knackered my wifi and I cannot connect and get the limited accesss message.

My 5870 block is deffinately missing nickel, I can clearly see the copper.
