Project 'sillyteg'

extinguishers are compulsory in some countries in europe. never imagined anybody actually needing one though :p

(un)lucky dude!

Christ, has your car life always been this exciting or is it just since getting the Integra to 'Calm down on modding cars' - maybe god of the land of the rising sun is having his payback!

Christ, Ben, that's a close and lucky escape!

Massive, massive kudos to the passer-by that stopped and got the fire extinguisher - I am sure you'd agree that you owe the fact that your car is still in one piece and relatively undamaged to him for his quick actions!!

Hope the damage isn't too bad once you start looking a bit closer, and everything is up and running quickly and smoothly!

I know, I really wish he had stuck around for longer, the guy was an absolute legend, I can't thank him enough.

I was totally useless, I just kind of watched it burn whilst phoning the fire brigade. I didn't even think to go and grab an extinguisher. Actually, come to think of it I remember blowing at the flames when I first opened the bonnet  :/

What a monumental pleb.

But yeah, I'm deffo buying an extinguisher for the car now.

To be fair on you dude, a lot of people would have reacted the same. A lot will say, "I can't believe you stood there and didn't try and get an extinguisher" - I'd like to see them in the same situation ;)

Sheesh, lucky escape there

Sounds like you stopped just in time, a turbo with no oil isn't good! Braided water + oil feeds should sort things out though.

Need to remember to buy a extinguisher myself too!

Look on itr-dc2 at the thread titled photoshoot, in the showground forum. You were lucky that guy grabbed the extinguisher, really lucky..

Yeah I saw that, very scary stuff. Inact that is what was going through my mind :(

But I was blowing the flames at one point :o

They are braided lines. They seemes really good quality :(

 Braided inner with a different outer coating? Or have they just gone black from the oil?

That's pretty damn **** then :(

There's a company called hose solutions that do decent hoses :) I've recently got some hoses from them, not fitted yet mind.

I think this car is jinxed, I sense the demon within it. Sell it now or it might turn you into a fire breathing Integra Borg thingy.

Well I sent those pics to the seller and just got a response, they said there is a possibility that I overtightened the fitting. I don't think that is the case, I was conscious of not overtightening it.

Well I hope your not going to take that for an excuse from them.

Yep, I told them that it's unlikely that I overtightened it, and that in my opinion it is a manufacturing fault.
