Just tried rasbian out on mine, and then tried accessing the plex server by web browser was pretty much unwatchable, but I think its probably the sd card I installed it on, a 4gb class 4 too small i'm guessing even though its showing about 900mb free?

I wouldn't do anything other than light browsing and development on rasbian. If you want something to watch things on, Kodi/OpenELEC are your best bet.

Yup^

Anything browser based is going to be dreadful on the Pi, it's not desiged for that, the CPU is way too weak.

Big ask, but can someone please explain or point me to how i would go about setting up a VPN (CyberGhosts) on Rpi ? I've looked through a few things and it just like mindbogglingly confusing. I ask this because I've seen i could get it for £9.99 for 12 months which is absurdly cheap.

What distro are you using? The following should help:

Ah cool at least its not me doing something wrong :) I was just having a fiddle around tbh still pretty decent, had openelec installed on the 32gb card but just seemed a bit of a waste?

Im trying to setup Zoneminder on my PI but struggling.. I can get version 1.25 from raspbian but i want the lastest 1.28 install.

To do this i believe i need to build/make the latest release. Ive searched all over the net and raspberry forums but cant find out how to do this.
Can anyone help out with a noobs guide?

Since Rasbian is just built on top of Debian, you could try using the tutorial on their Github.

What's the cheapest power supply available that actually delivers 5V/1500mah?

Even though mine states 5V/2000mah I'm still getting the low power symbol.
