Rate the last movie you saw thread.

SAW 2 - Not quite as good as the original (because it was new and refreshing) but still very good and a nice twist to the story.

7/10

This is turning out to be quite an interesting thread. Although I am surprised at some of the rating, although without any guidelines peoples ideas can be different (for example any film that I thought you could do with missing at the cinema and watching on DVD instead could never rate above a 7/10 for me). Everyone enjoys different films and it will be interesting to compare these to my own ratings and those on imdb. As soon as I remember the last film I saw in it's entirety I will rate it :)

I watched Withnail and I last week.
Despite the fact its over 20 years old its regarded by many as a cult classic and had totally passed me by , I picked it up in a sale for £2.99

I thought it was rubbish , I liked the scene in the coffee shop but thats about it.

3/10

What didn't you like about it?

V for Vendetta 2 out of 10
Cant say any more than that. A top class graphic novel ruined by the Wachowski brothers.

Pet Sematary:

Erm, wouldn't really say I enjoyed watching it. I do like the occasional horror but this just didn't interest me as much, some of the characters were a bit too corny and cringeworthy although I did like the fact that it dealed with some thing's usually untouched by a lot of movie makers.

6/10

The Day After Tommorrow

Watched this again for the second time, seems to have got better since the first viewing! Very close to being a top class movie.

7/10

I watched Lord of War last night with Nicholas Cage, an enjoyable film but it dragged quite a bit for the first 30 mins or so. Good film though and was a bit of an eye opener for the weapons trade.

8/10

Watched Azumi & Battle Royal at filmclub last week.

Azumi = 8.5/10
Battle Royal = 8/10

Watched both Oldboy & Taegukgi ~ Brotherhood Of War (2004) in the last couple of days.

Oldboy = 8.75/10
Taegukgi = 9/10 (Much Better than Saving Private Ryan)

Maniac Nurses on the Fx channel

Cracking film, lots of plot, Belgiums finest :p

10/10 Stellas

...There must have been some reason why I hadn't heard of it before  :p

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

8/10

Very good but I rate Once Upon a Time in the West as a better Sergio Leone film. I felt it had more of something.

Inside Man

Very slick heist movie, very entertaining. Not as good as The Usual Suspects, but good enough in its own right. :)

8/10

Starship Troopers 2 - 1/10, complete drivel, it only gets a 1 because of the cool tesla coil style thingys, and the fact that it has jugs in the film. Only watched it as i needed something to fall asleep to, and it worked :)

Real film,

Hotel Rwanda - 10/10, simply stunning film, wonderful performance by Don Chedle. A Film that cunjures all sorts of emotions from sadness that this sort of thing actually happens and complete anger that the world sat by and did sod all about it, felt the line when Joaquin Phoenix is talking to don chedle and don's character is sure that the footage of Tutsi's being slaughtered with maschettis will prompt the world to act and he replies "they will see it and say oh my god how terrible and then carry on eating their dinner" was particularly pertinent.

Hunchback of Notre Dame 2

5/10. Not all bad, usual disney affair really! Man meets woman, man falls in love with woman, man is hideous etc etc. Sarouche was actually quite a funny character, and possibly the best thing about the film. No songs stood out as being great, unlike the disney classics which usually have at least one stand out song.

Its an ok film, hence 5/10, and it is only an hour long, so if you need to kill some time!! I dont think i would have enjoyed it as much as i did if it hadnt only cost me £2.95 to buy!
