Why no Resi 1 in that list but you have Resi 2 and 2 Remake? Sort it out! :p

I used to have it in there but removed it as it has been so bloody long since I played it I remember very little and as stated the remake is so much bloody better. Where as the remake of resi 2 and 3 imo is not better than the originals.

I'll end up buying it but only after I've finished Last of Us PC :p

Blasphemy. I have not even pre-ordered that one. Will wait until it gets cheaper. Plus I have not played Resident Evil 4 for much longer than Last of Us so in no particular rush for it :)

Trying to avoid the thread because of spoilers etc but OMGGgGg the hype!! Could not be more excited!

The dream is to run the PC through the OLED, whilst wearing the jacket and getting my wife to dress as Ashley, saying things like “you look handsome Leon” as I play.

But I stay can’t find out what’s causing the auto crashing with my PC. GPU is back from the manufacturer from an RMA with no faults… for goodness sake! :(

Identifying a PC issue is just the worst.

Could be the RAM. What's your specs? Maybe we can troubleshoot the problem for you before release. Post your problem and how it occurred in another thread and post the link here.

In my experience RAM is the issue a lot of the time. Try running the RAM without xmp at the JEDEC default speed which is usually something like 2660MHz or something like that.

Very interesting. In which case, I’m off to buy the most expensive PSU I can buy I guess…?!

Straight out of the jacket fund…

P.s. thank you very much for your kind help.

Corsair to have a new range of PSU which are ATX 3.0 called RMx SHIFT. Worth looking into that maybe?

My understanding is ATX 3.0 PSU are designed to deal with spikes in power better and also going ATX 3.0 will be more future proof for future GPU upgrades.

Playing with kb&m myself. Makes it easier getting those headshots :)

Will probably do two playthroughs. Can use controller on the second.

Just go for a good Platinum/Titanium efficiency rated PSU, will be well controlled for transients/spikes etc regardless of ATX3 or not. ATX 3 ones currently are very expensive iirc too.

For the sake say £50 one might as well go ATX 3. I would.

A quick search shows the Corsair PSU's I mentioned are £160 for the 850w and around £200 for the 1000w.

After a bit of shopping around, I have a 1200W Corsair RM1200x SHIFT arriving tomorrow. That is lubriciously overpowered and of the 3.0 spec, so should hopefully work.

Downside with that model is that it doesn't have the native single cable recommended for some 4000 series GPUs, but an adaptor cable... but that's a problem for future Nitefly should I ever upgrade and I guess it's only a problem if the adaptor cable doesn't work....!

The real test then... can it survive Resident Evil 8 maxed out... stay turned for tomorrow's results :o

(It's so not going to fix it...)

Hopefully that fixes your problem man. Would be nice if you play with us :D

Thanks for the well wishes! Did that mean you caved for the pre-order in the end? :D

What’s the target price to pay for with PC steam…? £35?

Spend the afternoon cable managing and reinstalling the 3090 to make the new PSU as quick to plug and play as poss… worst case scenario is it’ll be a PS5 adventure.

Will probably stay away from the thread / news / reviews on release to going in completely ‘blind’.

Sadly will be taking the wife to Disneyland for her birthday over the release weekend - what a self centred so and so  :p

Haha. Yea I did. £35 :)

Yep that is the target price from CDKeys.com.

Is it actually possible to go into this game completely blind though? You played RE4 right? :p

Hope you enjoy your trip.

Let us know when the PSU comes and if it solves your problem.

I've completed this game and while I did enjoy it, the performance issues make me not want to play it again.

As soon as I start it begins to stutter and only after about 15 minutes does it start to calm down. I've tried every fix out there but it doesn't change anything. I think I'll probably wait for the game to get patched again before trying it out.

It's such a shame because the game itself is pretty good!

You mean the demo? What's your specs and what settings did you use? :)

I've just realised I posted in the wrong thread! It was meant for the Hogwarts Legacy thread!

That would explain it. I was think that's odd, everyone here said the demo runs very well as it did for me. So I am thinking this lad either has a very old GPU or has other issues :p

Apparently there is a mod for it so you can add DLSS. Works on the demo too. If any brave soul wants to try, let us know how it goes :p

So… the results of the PSU swap…! And a bios update… and some ram tweaks…

Stable  *neigh / whinny / eats hay*

Gave it a whirl through the OLED, with HDR and ray tracing one. Yes. Oh yes… it looked so good I did a poo on the sofa, right then and there!

I must say, the HDR… actually looks great?! On RE8 it never quite worked for some reason - I always felt like it was making everything hard to focus on as the contrast was too exaggerated. On this demo, things looked just right. Very impressive indeed.

Obvs I survived the Village scene first go. Then died on the first enemy on wacky hard mode or whatever it was :o :D

However, Village scene was hurrrrrrn!! Basically just ran and hid, ain’t got nooo ammo for that!

Then, Bingo at the end *chefs kiss*

What are people going for with the settings / FPS? Thinking I’ll aim for locking at ~80-90ish. Smooth but a little cinematic!

Glad to hear it!

So erm, is the Leon jacket out of the question now?

I played it on my 28" as I recall 4:3 CRT. Was very happy with that TV. I had a 5.1 surround sound nicely mounted in my room also. Good times :)

Resident Evil games tend to drop in price pretty fast and I'm not paying £35+ for a remake of a game I completed back on the Wii even if it is really good.
£15-£20 will likely be my biting point

I know what you mean. But the way I tend to look at it these days is, is it a game I want to play day 1? Do I want to support the dev?

Sometimes there is only one game in the whole year that falls into that category. This year there are quite a few for me. I know I will get my moneys worth from this game at £35 and I hope that they will make Code Veronica Remake after, though I am not holding my breath. Plus there is that extra bit of fun play games on release and chatting with others here on the forum :)

But otherwise I agree. No rush, by the time xmas sales start this will probably be around £15 or so on CDKeys.

As an example I did not get Dead Space remake. Fancied it a little and could have got for £12 ea game pass thing to play. But was in no rush and happy to wait. Will add it to my steam collection for around £15 or so if I have nothing else to play at the time. As for Calisto Protocol, I am not even sure that is worth my time, let alone my money :p
