RM before 1pm item not delivered

I've been lucky so far generally my SD parcels have been dropped off by a contractor and my tracked parcels the same or maybe a day late.

Local garage has opened an Evri parcel hub and as I'm mainly doing Amazon returns I'm finding it much more convenient than queuing in a post office to send parcels back, and that's on the odd occasion that it's even open.
Once they're scanned in the refund's issued so I don't really care if they lose them after that.
Doubt I'll be using the post office much in future if I can help it.

Why couldn't this urgent prescription be filled by your local pharmacy?

I work full time and my local pharmacy opening hours clash with my work hours and it's always been a hassle having to leave work during the day to drive a 50 mile round trip back to my village that takes about 2 hours just to collect a prescription. I signed up for the delivery service last week so I could get my prescriptions delivered to my work address reception desk with less hassle coz it's manned Mon-Sat 9-6.

Lucky you. My "local" Evri hub is a 70 mile round trip away!

Still haven't seen sight nor sound of any postie since the last strike. Frustrating as I'm expecting some normal posted items to be delivered that I assumed I'd receive last Thursday or Friday.

Well if every other office has been like ours has today then good luck to people waiting for things. I think the majority only took out 1 of 2 walks and all the tracked and specials for both walks. Next strike day is Friday.

Haven't read it but I imagine it an increased based pay with lower OTE?

No way retail can be bumping salaries like that, shirley?
He said Currys' staff needed a high level of expertise in order to help customers and the higher wages were the price they were paying "for the right talent".

We live in such a clown world. Nothing could be further from reality than what their chief executive said there.

Do they actually get fixed? We've sent one van up about 3 times now and it comes back with the problem it went up for!
Nope.

Had a van returned from the mechs today as it kept stopping due to dpf fault.
A few hours into delivery and the same fault is showing on the dash ☹️
Very frustrating to not even have the basic tools to do the job.

I was out till 5.30pm tonight delivering specials and doing collections on my old walk who didn't deliver anything at all as there was no working van for them to use.

I still love doing the delivery but royal mail as a business is a nightmare to work with/for.
I could write a huge list of things that are wrong and stupid and I've only been doing it for a year.

You dont have the same postie all the time?

I also hand it to him direct. He also drops an xmas card through my door in return.
We have the same postie 90% of the time, and it's been the same one for years. I know when it's the other one on because he folds every letter in half before he shoves it through the door. ****.

Go outside with a single letter and try post it through your letterbox without folding it, using only one hand as the other will be holding the bundle of mail. It's far from easy to do without putting your fingers inside the letterbox, which is a total no no due to the risk of having your fingers bitten off!

One of the many posties we have does that. Earlier this year we had a letter delivered with a laminated certificate inside. It was betwixt two sheets of thick cardboard, the envelope had "Do not bend" stamped on it in big red letters and it easily fitted through our letterbox. He must've had difficulty folding it in half too because it had a ******* great shoe print on the envelope. Collared him about a week later and asked him why he decided to ruin our post, apparently "Uh, dunno" is a good enough reason. Guy is an absolute knobhead.
