Roccat Kone Mouse - Wheel Broken ...

hathaway how much did it cost to post for you? The guy emailed me back asking for a load of info so ill sort it out tonight. Does it go to germany?

lol just got your email too, only a day late :D

The return address is to Letchworth Garden City in Hertfordshire so the return postage is about what you'd expect. I sent it recorded delivery just to be on the safe side which came to about £3.50ish, I can't remember exactly.
Got a responce from him just now saying my mouse was posted back on Friday so I hope to get my hands on it very soon. It'd be nice if there's some sort of sign of the new design working, but I doubt it somehow. I just hope it fixes whatever caused this obvious flaw.
V-Spec if you want to get this guy from Roccat's email address give me a shout on MSN (my address is in a post above) and I'll forward it to you. Otherwise you'll probably end up with another mouse with the same design flaw, much better to give this new mouse wheel a shot.

Since we now know for sure Roccat are taking these defective mice back personally, wouldn't it be best if there was some sort of announcement for OCUK customers to contact Roccat directly rather than return the item back here?
Otherwise they're just likely to trade one defective item with another, and some people quite a few times.
Unless that is, OCUK swap their stock for the new improved mice.

Well, got my mouse back from Roccat today. Can't really discern any difference in the mouse wheel but then I didn't expect to.
The oddest thing though was that on the paper work inside, the heading was "Razerzone RMA" and then the RMA number. Razerzone.com being the official site of Razer, I can't fathom that at all. Unless Razer and Roccat have some sort of working relationship but then I thought they were competitors. Anyone know about this? Got me intrigued now...

That'd be an embarrassing revelation for Roccat. Then again do Razer even make 4D scroll wheels for their mice?
The email address I got back from Roccat after contacting them was from speed-link.com. I'd not heard of them before but they make PC peripherals, which made me think that they must be Roccat's manufacturing arm. So why Razer would have any involvement at all is a mystery to me. Unless it's sheer coincidence... some coincidence though.

EDIT: Didn't see you post before I started typing Fanatic. You're right about speed-link and I think it must be a tie in.

Well just got my mouse back from Roccat, maybe it is just me being hopeful but the mouse wheel feels better now, it isn't as hard to click so not so much pressure needed. It is a brand new mouse that they sent me, different serial number at least.

Great turn of events.

Ocuk cant do anything, because I went through roccat for my FOURTH RMA.

Maybe if someone would have answered my support forum post in the first place I could have sorted it through you. Plus I knew if i just rma'ed it with ocuk there would be no fix and it would happen again and again.. probably until the year warranty is up and they say they cant help?

Yes I'm angry.
