Rome 2 : Total War

If the CE had something more like - I don't know much stuff for the game like a book with art etc or something - diablo 3 had this and was quite interesting ...

Just bought from Greenmangames with the 25% discount and it says "paste in the product activation key bellow" and I have no key. Super! haha. I guess I wait till nearer release for them to email me it?

Yeah, don't get me wrong - I wouldn't pay that much for the CE myself - it's crazy money. I would love the onager though :o

AOE2 originally came with a trebuchet but was deemed unsafe in some countries, wouldn't mind one of them :P. Apparently it had quite the distance on it!

Figures. How difficult would it be to add that into their cut and paste email that says I have a CD key and I should enter it into steam? "If you are preordering a game your CD will be emailed to you on launch or just before". Geeze, that's hard. Instead of sending me an email telling me to search up and down my email for a CD key.

looking to pre-order this for my husband cheapest i have seen in on a site Base.com has anyone used them before for pre-orders?
As he will want the game ready on the release date
Thanks

Agree. How the hell can you be offended by this?

I'll actually feel quite pleased if he pops up in my game as a commander.

EXACTLY. Its a pretty big deal that he's even in the game, and we should be happy that a really big fan of the series that sadly is not here to enjoy what looks to be an amazing game, will still be a part of it.

ps. damn that CE is expensive!

Seeing as one of my best mates works at CA ill be expecting one of these just prior to release day. Dieing for my beta access to come through.

Not be this eager for a game in a long time. :D Can not wait to be honest.

You have a friend at CA? That's awesome :D are you getting it for free, or at a reduced price?

Haven't played a Total War game since Empire (started with the original Shogun), so really looking forward to playing this one! I should really get Napoleon and Shogun 2 to complete my collection...

Just a quick straw poll.... who else is upgrading or building a new rig especially for Rome 2?

*raises hand*

If I needed one I would - but mine is pretty decent for what I want it to do ...

would love a bigger monitor but hey - a 30 inch dell would be too much for my budget atm ...

shouldn't have to upgrade for this IMO.

all total war games have been ridicously un-optimized.

shogun 2 effectively uses 1 out of 8 threads on my i7 920.

hopefully it will be optimized. the video i posted bragged about how CA are putting a lot of effort into optimizing the game.

As always since 2004, I am preparing to be underwhelmed.

The AI will probably be terrible, declare war on you for no reason (no matter how weak they are compared to you) and then refuse peace at all costs, even when you have taken all their provinces except their capital and have 10 stacks sieging it against their decimated 2 unit army. Half the new features won't work properly or the game will CTD if you click on a ship. The campaign map will feel like an afterthought, the "epic" battles will either be over in about 30 seconds because of the silly movement and kill speeds (for the ADD kiddies) or bog down and take 2 hours at 3fps because of an AI bug and the game overall will be way too easy.

The graphics will be nicer though, so that should keep 90% of people happy.
