Rome 2 : Total War

Shogun 2 was my first Total War game. I liked it.... but there was something about it that wasnt my cup of tea.

I really didnt understand what I was doing with regards to the campaing map and builing my cities etc...

No game should need more than a 670/7950, not for the next 2-3 years anyway. This certainly shouldn't.

They do if you plan on playing anything with graphics settings higher than medium with playable fps on a descent size screen. I wouldn't be able to max my games out if I didn't have a second 670 at my res of 2560x1440.

What is the reasoning behind the need for awful, smoking arrow trails? I'm seriously baffled as to what value they add to the otherwise pretty realistic looking visuals. From the video linked above the pretty quick movement looks quite jarring, but I can understand that in a strategy game time does not have to run exactly 1:1 for gameplay reasons.

Still, I am quite looking forward to this game and will likely buy it at a discount price when the majority of the DLC has been released for it. Despite the intent of Sega, an obvious staggered DLC nickel and dime strategy simply encourages me to wait for the all-in-one version.

Perhaps so you can see who is shooting at who when zoomed out a fair amount?

I agree that they don't look great, I wish the arrow trails were a toggleable option.

A mod sorted it out for shogun 2, I'm sure the same will happen for Rome 2

Shogun was a joke on a standard hdd, it actually put me off the game until i got a ssd. I have made sure to have plenty of space on my ssd for this game. Even considered getting its own SSD to make sure she was comfortable ;)
