Rome 2 : Total War

Amazon haven't even delivered mine. Ordered last week, dispatch was delayed until yesterday because I'm a Prime customer and they aren't meant to break street date. They then used First Class delivery instead of a courier as it's a small item. Had the day off today too - back at work tomorrow.

They dispatched mine on Saturday, it got delayed magically yesterday.
It's a moot point "breaking the street date" as you couldn't play it anyway.

This looks and runs like crap : /

maxes out vram , sli doesnt work.

4.4ghz i5 2500k and two sli 670's......

What a dissapointment.

Shogun ran 3 x better and looked better as well.

Just seen a review concluded with this:

Rome: Total Fail

LOL.

I'm loving the hyperbole.

The main problem of this game is, it's not 2004 anymore and the 9 year gap has made people expect the most flawless game ever launched.
The original success will be a problem, as Rome was pretty much a pinnacle game for RTS/Strategy imo and is widely considered one of the best.

Dont understand why your still posting?
You havent played ANY of the games, you havent got this one, you dont know anything about it...

Dont get the point.

Just letting others know it's a bit of a fail compared to what was expected, even others who own it in here aren't happy.

Enjoy it anyway I guess.

Your not though, as posted earlier there are many many reviews with 9/10s etc , your going out of your way to pick the negative reviews as if you have a point to prove..

what were you expecting ? you havent played any of the other games...how can you be expecting something if you know literally nothing about the series! Why dont you load up shogun and actually get into a TW game before slandering this one with negativity based on some random quirky website on the internet.

yes there are performance issues
yes people are getting used to the new UI
yes its a more modern Rome game

But its total war, its been evolving since the beginning and normal people know how to deal with this, or wait for the upcoming patches - something that has occured shortly after the release of any TW game.

It's clear you've tried this and aren't happy with it and are now trying to defend it.

The performance is truely abysmal...... Changing graphics settings makes no difference.

The hilarious thing is that all 4 cores on my cpu are actually being used this time compared with limited multi core support in previous releases!!

I was so looking forward to this game as well. : (

This might be it for me and gaming to be honest.

Frustrated with the capture point mechanic or that the garrison was wiped out? I'm not sure what else you expect to become of the default garrison units when you lose the city, I'll reserve judgement on the multiple capture points thing until I've actually played the game.

Capture point mechanic, if you read my post properly I stated that I had bottlenecked and wiped most of their army out with minimal losses. However they swap the flag on a flagpole and my men die.

It's realistic though, theres tons of historical evidence to show that many cities were lost because a single man stood near a flag and changed it, which then caused all of the men stationed in the city to spontaneously combust.

Wait wut.

Hasnt this always been the case Total War games

Also, i will tell you want happened to your men. They are dead.

Yep, and it's retarded. The battle slider was almost completely yellow and they had 2-3 wavering units left against my default 5. They had been slaughtered and capturing a flag suddenly made all of my men dead.

Just letting others know it's a bit of a fail compared to what was expected, even others who own it in here aren't happy.

Isn't that the case with 99% of sequels?

If you try to play Rome II with a Core Duo 2.8Ghz, Geforce 8800GT 512mb, and 2gb RAM...
