Rooney - 2 B Sold

Let's hope that Gill assured him about future purchases and that this is just an indication of better things to come next summer.

I still think Rooney is a **** for the way he's acted. He's taken it a step further than most players who want a better contract by actually personally releasing a statement saying he wants to leave. The worry now is that other important players such as Evra and Nani may do the same, having seen it work for Rooney.

Why do you keep trying to make this a Ferguson issue, and that he's getting one over Ferguson by signing a new contract? Ferguson said all along that the door is open for him to a sign a new contract, he never wanted him to leave.

I've not said he's getting 1 over Fergie

I've said that Fergie's had to change the way he would have traditionally dealt with Rooney. Rooney's the 1 that's coming out of this looking a *** but I'd guess significantly richer.

Set a bit of a precedent here Rooney has.. Previously no unrest was tolerated by Fergie, now you can do it for wage increases. New deal just plaster over the cracks?

i dont see the point of being angry at him, at the end of the day he's staying.. so he ummed and rrrrrrrrr'ed about leaving, we have all done it in relationships or jobs we have had... but if it was because he was worried about the lack of this or that, then surely that is a good thing? as now someone up high has made promises to him that there will be investment and there will be funds......(at least i hope)

Wow I didn't see that coming just goes to show that we should always listen to what Jose mourihno has to say. He said he stay at man utd and that whats happened, I sure there's some connection with SAF and Jose

no he came out in a press conference and said he wanted to leave.

man united are a laughing stock over this bend over tactic

dunno who's worse, city or united

money and death threats? nice one

who's laughing? im a utd fan and im well pleased! now at least if we do offload him in the summer we can get a price we want, UTD have the power again, and hopefully Rooney can kick start his season

did he hand in a transfer request? i told my misses i wanted to leave her once, but stayed and happily married now, its part of life.

To be fair to Rooney it's absolute lunacy to ask somebody to live on £100,000.00 per week in this day and age, he deserved a pay rise.

Well that's me finally cutting my ties with football. i now officially detest the sport. I'm furious about this. I could hardly believe my eyes when I just read this on the BBC website.

This sets a precedent and will cause all sorts of ructions within the dressing room. Throw your toys out of the pram and pretty much blackmail the club and you'll get what you want.

Bye bye football. RIP.

Fans should be complaining about Clubs selling shirts for £50, sky high ticket prices etc etc etc before they criticise players.

While there's this sort of money in the game, I'd rather it was going to players than all these foreign investors sitting in the board room.

yes, i'm sure you're well pleased. i'm sure you also muttered the words ''once a blue, always a blue'' over the past few days or ''scouse ****'' but now you're pleased?
and you're saying now atleast if 'we' offload him in the summer, 'we' can get the price 'we' want
he handed in a transfer request, you bent over and slapped him with some cash after he publicly ridiculed you and had sex with grannies

that's why i'm laughing at you

ROONEY ROONEY
:)

LOL just lol...seriously dude get a grip...it happens all the time and it wont be the last.

Seriously though Utd should have sold him....the fact he got away with this is unbelievably stupid of Utd.

Nobody comes out of this as angels. There isn't a single party who are at fault, the whole game stinks. The real shame is that there's millions of fans lining the players pockets every week with their extraordinary wage demands. But as you say, if it didn't go to the players it's not like the owners would lower prices, they'd just skim more themselves.

Becoming very, very disenchanted with the whole thing.

Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if SAF and Rooney didn't plan this all along to get the owners and money men to agree to a pay rise they previously wouldn't consider.

I don't think Ferguson gives a damn what he's paid so long as he stays and SAF has played his part in making this episode as public as possible.

It's ultimately down to the fans to change the way the game is. As long as enough people are paying for Sky, getting replica shirts and buying season tickets, then nothing will change.

And any fan funding their wages has no right to complain about how much they earn. If supporters took a stand against this it would change.

Anyway, this is for another thread.
