Rooney - 2 B Sold

wow the metro....

wrong he stated he wanted to leave.... NO transfer request was handed in

yes, i'm sure you're well pleased. i'm sure you also muttered the words ''once a blue, always a blue'' over the past few days or ''scouse ****'' but now you're pleased?
and you're saying now atleast if 'we' offload him in the summer, 'we' can get the price 'we' want
he handed in a transfer request, you bent over and slapped him with some cash after he publicly ridiculed you and had sex with grannies

that's why i'm laughing at you

ROONEY ROONEY

no idea what half your post is on about????? u been drinking??

but yes im pleased and now the club are back in charge and can sell or play him, its no longer upto Rooney or his agent to dictate. i hope he gets his head down and starts scoring.

This is great:

I love how people seem to be implying that Mourinho had some kind of inside knowledge/influence on all this, I can just picture the scene now, Rooney's bedroom, October 21st, 2:46am....

Rooney: zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Jose: *whispering* Wayne, Wayne
Rooney: zzzzzzzzzzzz
Jose: Wayne
Rooney: *half asleep* who is it?
Jose: It's me, the special one
Rooney: Jenny, go away I've not got me wallet on me la
Jose: No it is I Jose Mourinho
Rooney: Oh eh, what you doing 'ere la?
Jose: I've come to tell you you need to stay at Man United
Rooney: Why la? City have offered me 500k a week and a scaletrix set and United have Darron Gibson
Jose: But I'm coming Wayne, and i'm bringing Wesley
Rooney: Oh alright then, pass me my fred the red teddy on your way out please Josie
Jose: it's Jose
Rooney: right Josie zzzzzzzzzzzzz

You know how that spin doctor bint got fired for saying September 11th was a good day to bury bad news?

Government introduces massive sweeping public cuts and risks potential double-dip recession - Wayne Rooney hogs the headlines with this lame "will he/won't he" story and distracts us mindless plebs from any real news.

CO-INCIDENCE? I THINK NOT.

*gets tinfoil hat*

I have to say, I'm happy he's staying. If Rooney refinds his form and Berbatov plays well we will have probably the best strikeforce in the league.

I thought his behaviour was out of order but at the end of the day we dont know all the facts, he could have done it purely to get guarantees the club will hopefully buy some better players in the near future, whether that will hold true is another thing entirely.

Nobody (professional) could see him leaving to begin with, Mourinho and Mancini both said they expected him to stay, even though he handed in a transfer request.

I'm hoping this will lift his spirits somewhat and he starts playing well again very soon, we need to start hammering some teams and there is no better way to start than with Stoke :p

Does seem that he was convinced he was leaving, this could all be some kind of gentleman's agreement so that he can leave in the summer to a club of Man Utd's choice at a figure closer to his value. Can't see him having a future at the club, you can't burn your bridges this spectacularly and basically tell all your colleagues that they aren't good enough for you, then waltz in a week later with an enormous pay check, then expect them to get on with you.

Yes pretty interesting as Evra and Vidic have both slagged him off this week. Vidic can't talk though he's been willing to use speculation to his advantage. He should have gone after carrying on this far. Although if the investment in the squad is coming everyone wins. I hope it is, I can help but feel this has been allowed to get into the media on purpose by more than just rooneys agent.

'rumoured' 180k.

Rumoured, more like made up. Anyone can make up figures and nod along.

I heard it was £215,000 per week another figure plucked out of the air. A deal was done this morning and all of a sudden they know the figures, don't make me laugh.

He'll be fetching about £300k per week including sponsorship contracts you'd think. Disgusting.

No he won't not once his agent takes a slice and he pays the tax. He won't be able to claim child benefit but it won't be near 300k.

To be fair it's the going rate, I'm just glad I don't contribute to his wages in any way.

Rooney dropped his bombshell transfer request just hours before the kick-off on Wednesday shocking fans in side Old Trafford

its just a term used, try not to believe everything you read, all those links are from less a known sources that you have googled... give me bbc or skysports huh?

Well, the whole thing's certainly changed my opinion of him, and I don't see him as I did before, when I was convinced he'd be at the club for the rest of his career. He does have work to do to win people back over, but on the whole, I'd rather he was playing for Utd than one of our rivals. Still not sure how he can just wander back in to the dressing room now, and fairly disappointed with the club if they did just cave, was pretty much ready for him to leave.

Meh.

First things first Rooney did not hand in a transfer request, he released a statement stating his reasons for not signing a new contract a contract that expired summer after next meaning January would have been the time we could have got the most money out of him.

As for him staying I'll give it till next September before I get too excited as it could just be an agreement so we can get a bigger fee for him, remember Beckham signed his new contract the summer before he was sold so contracts obviously dont really mean anything.

The whole situation is the exact same that Liverpool had with Gerrard when Chelsea wanted to sign him, one night Gerrard said he was leaving the next morning he said he was staying, I'll never forget the scouser on SSN slating Gerrard before the reporter telling him he'd changed his mind and the fan instantly contradicting what he had just said :p

To me what Rooney has done is no different to Fabregas in the summer saying he wanted to leave Arsenal, he didn't go and the Arsenal fans still love him no reason why the majority cant forgive Rooney like the Arsenal fans did with Csec.

spot on

Fabregas didn't undermine his team mates, manager and club. He didn't even say he wanted to leave until the transfer window was shut. He's also still giving 100% and didn't need to be bunged a new higher contract to do so. The two situations are very, very different.

I swear you say stupid things for no reason other than to try and annoy people. Do you really think what Cesc did in the close season is comparable to what Rooney has done, mid-season? :s Rooney didn't even want to go back to Everton (you assume, they wouldn't pay him enough)

Nobody has an issue with Rooney wanting to move clubs, that's fine, it's the timing and manner in which he's done it, and his motives behind wanting to do so, all of which stink. He's been hugely disrespectful to club, fans and manager, Fabregas was careful to not be, most Arsenal fans wished him well, very different to what Man Utd fans were saying of Rooney.

there is no difference, apart from Cesc and his club are not as high profile in the UK or in the world. "English media = Rooney English " as rooney would say :D

Actually spot on. Unlike the above :p

There's 1 major difference between the two. Fabregas wasn't in the middle of contract negotiations.

Obviously nobody can say for certain but this would appear to be a case of Rooney and his advisors trying to get more money. The same can't be said about Fabregas.

I swear you say stupid things for no reason other than to try and annoy people.

i know, and thats my job.

rooney told man utd and fergie AND the press that he wanted a transfer away.

he came out and said to the press that he wanted to leave, and even fergie is quoted as saying, 'the boy is adamant he wants to leave'

when you come out and say that with 1.75 years of your contract to run, you can presume he has requested a transfer, not that he wanted to be put into the reserves for 3/4 of a season, plus potentially another one afterwards.
