A youtube video? i thought you were going to do it, like with high res images.
High res images are unfair towards native, dlss looks particularly good when there is no motion. It's in a video that you can tell any problems with it like shimmering etc. But if you want pictures, I'll give you pictures, no problem.

4K (native) with or without sharpening is always going to be better.

It doesn't need to be explained, a 1440p (or whatever DLSS quality is) image upscaled to 4K couldn't look as good, there's less detail in the image by definition.

Can we see the difference during gameplay? I'd say rarely.

pictures.

7 images in total - if you want me to tone them down to less ask..To avoid random guesses, better to rank them from best looking to worst. Results will be revealed tomorrow. Game is cyberpunk running 4k ultra but no RT (my card can't handle it at 4k  ) Pics were taken at the same game, dunno why lighting changed a bit.

Move to the nvidia 4000 series where its more on topic discussing dlss

In before the lock....

Is the rumored $600 for the 4070 have any truth to it or we still thinking it will be $750?

Probably still retail at £700 odd. Doesn’t sound like a particularly appealing card from the specs. It’s odd, Nvidia gave a lot of breathing room between the 4080/90 compared to the 30 series, but this has also filtered down to the rest of the range making pretty much everything outside of a 4090 a largely poor purchase (I hate saying that because obvs the 4090 is outrageously expensive, but at least it feels ‘next gen’ in its performance).

It might have made more sense to make the 4080 closer to a 4090 and bump the rest of the range up. I can only assume they are going to do a ‘super’ variant or something at a later stage given the gap between the models. Then again. Maybe not.

I think that the problem even with a £600 price tag is that the RX 6800 XT is going for ~£550 new (or it was last week anyway).

If AMD keeps producing these, things won't be looking so rosy for Nvidia, especially if they reduced the price further.

£500 is probably the best we can hope for, for a high performance 1440p card, but the launch cycle has been soooo slow this time around. There doesn't seem to be any incentive for either company to speed things up.

And Intel is like '1080p card anyone?'.

£600 - and I have a feeling the parter cards will be above that price - is still too much money really. I'm interested in what sort of an upgrade it'll be over a 3060TI, though, as my other half's one has a fairly rubbish cooler. I've power limited it to 80% to keep it quiet.

I also wonder if it'll pull the price of the 7900XT down further, or at least get the partner cards to the £800 mark, even if that's still too much money.

I really don't get emotionally invested in one brand over the other. Back in the day I had a Matrox Millennium G200, two Voodoo IIs and a PowerVR PCX2 all in one PC. I get the impression some people around here would consider that heresy! :)

With RDNA2 being on 7nm TSMC it is relatively cheap silicon so I do not see why they do not keep producing them. Is very power efficient as well so a win win.

If AMD introduce a 7800xt/7700xt that delivers similar performance at similar power usage at similar price to manufacture and similar price to the customer then ...erm wtf is the point.

The only real quantum leap in performance for this gen is the 4090. Amazing performance and improved performance per watt , can allow the high price tag because it is a flagship product. Everything else seems to be flawed to a major degree , either price or power draw. Surely we will get another winner this gen.

I think there's very little difference between the companies at 1080p (assuming no upscaling). Both companies can compete well at this price point, arguably AMD tends to be a bit more competitive at the low end on pricing.

One thing is pretty clear to me, there’s no 3060Ti this gen. Looking back, most notably a FE card at £370 odd was such a great piece of kit.

Won’t get anything at that price this gen comparable to the relative performance it offered.

Add the inflation on top, and you should be able to get a 1080p card with better performance than the RTX 3060 TI.

But I doubt it would be much of an improvement.

GA106 and AD106 is always gonna signify (comparatively) low spec.

Edit - just realised that the 3060 TI is the GA104 die...

Who knows, maybe there will a card below the RTX 4070 based on AD104?
