I check hardware news but apparently not on enough coz I wasn't expecting this it drop today. Paul's HW is great but I'm confused as to why the 4070 Ti results aren't included coz I just wanna see head to head between those 2.

Good price? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_syndrome ? :)

It's kinda shows up the 4080/4090 as really bad value, which is reality. Now the second hand sales should start coming down.

Good point on the used market, some overpriced stuff out there now.

It’s a decent card at an ok price hence why Gibbo confident it will sell ok. It’s sort of a 3xxx generation really - maybe think of it as a 3085 with less of the big stuff but some jiggery pokery to make it perform reasonably. Definitely seems a bit ‘cut down’ in certain areas.

Given the disparity in console vs PC sales why spend a lot of time on the PC version, target the console version and make people turn settings down on the PC like they did post PS4 cross gen period and in prior console gens when the new stuff was out of the cross gen phase.

4GB cards bit the dust hard when that happened last time around and now 8GB cards are biting the dust. Same will happen to 16GB cards next gen when the cross gen period ends.
Maybe, but that says more about the devs than it does about vram on gpus.

Hmm (in Geralt's voice):

Of the 13.7 million units of Cyberpunk 2077 sold through to consumers (unsold retail discs aren't included in this count), 56% of those sales came on PC. 28% of sales were on PlayStation, and 17% on Xbox.

How much is this thing going to be, in reality, great British pounds....?

Because, um? £590.

But why would you buy that now, for the same money, when the 4070 is loads more efficient, and has better ray tracing?
IQ, I know it's not for everyone anymore with DLSS/FSR but if you want to maintain textures 100% of the time especially at 4k, just saying

And..... (if someone is to use any of the below)

DLSS (superior in IQ and uptake still especially if playing at < 4k)
Frame generation
CUDA
Better streaming/recording

And so on.

Wouldn't touch any RDNA 2/ampere gpu for >£400 now nor ada/rdna 3 at their current prices.

Wow 1 game. Now do Call of Duty or AC or the other console AAA fare, see how that holds up.
“Building on favourable review scores and early player response, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has sold through more units in its first week than any other Assassin’s Creed game sold during the same period,” Ubisoft says in a press release. “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla also has become the top-selling Ubisoft PC launch ever, driven by all-time record Ubisoft Store sales performance.”

That doesn't break it down into pcs and console, I can't see anything that does but this is Ubisoft showing what their money is from, still not specifying a game though:

Basically PC is half or less of their Console "net bookings" which I'm not entirely sure the meaning of.

The best word to describe the 4070 is "Meh".

It's a solid but underwhelming card that is as per standard Nvidia pricing just a bit to much for what is offered.

Yet it is the cheapest next gen card there is so for the moment for the mid range gamer it's the only option.

Yeah in its own right it is a decent enough card, if it had come out 2 years ago, wasn't slapped with the x70 moniker when it clearly isn't that tier or was cheaper.

It's pulling 180 watts at 3080 performance, nice.

I’ve read most of the reviews now and that’s the key impressive factor to me. Circa 3080 performance at very low power draw. Would make an excellent ITX GPU. With these power draw figures the 4070 will probably turn out to be the absolute favourite for prebuilds etc as they won’t require a particularly large PSU.
