Russell Brand.

The onus is on him. If he has done that. And used his own money rather then 'rasing' it from other people then I'll give him some credit. But believe me, if he did then he would have Let the whole bloody world know about it. He's that egotistical.

You won't really give him credit though because I can see you need to search for a negative twist to it. Damned if ya do, Damned if ya don't.

Nevermind!.

I won't give him credit because he won't do it. How long ago was that interview? How much time are you willing to give before you decide I was the one in the right? He likes to preach but suddenly freezes when it comes to putting his hands into his own pocket. That's what makes him a massive hypocrite.

I saw him yesterday, He was walking down the middle of Middlesex street on the road like he owned the place and he was jesus returning from the dead

I don't want him to give his money away. Nor hate him.

Just wish he would stop harping on about issues he clearly has little idea about. Either that or atleast come up with a possible solution or ideas. Not just criticise whatever is popular in the public domain to earn a few brownie points without adding any value.

His recent rant at the Sainsbury's advert highlights this. Yes Russ, well done, it's to get people to shop at Sainsbury's. It's an advert. Just like any other advert. It's also raising money for charity... It's not a 'mythical event' as you described it, nor gloryfying war, nor exploitation.

Actually how does on exploit something that does not exist? (I recall his opening line having a statement to this effect)

Is that a healthy dose of bias or was he really? I've always imagined that when the cameras are off he's quite the shadow of his celebrity self. No idea where that comes from though.

For the record, my opinion of him is: He's a nob.

Well it looks like his recent plight may have done some good...

The American investors in the New Era Estate look to be selling their investment and moving on.

Good! Leave the poor buggers alone!

I am not sure if this would have happened if it wasnt for Brand shouting about it for the last few weeks...

Just before anyone sparks up. Those investors were kicked out of New York City by the mayor for being un fit for the vision of their city and exploiting the poor.

Obligatory thread comment to stop asinine insults and mud slinging, for those that cant read:

I was like what on earth.....

Yup, after negotiations with politicians (namely London’s deputy mayor Richard Blakeway and the mayor of Hackney) which started before Brand got involved, it looks like Westbrook are going to sell to a UK affordable housing company.

But hey, lets give Brand the credit, after all he whined about it on Youtube and stuff...

The London mayor wasn’t arsed and im sure he and a few others already knew those facts before they invited them to London

The mayor invited them to London?

LOL, he must be doing something right if this thread is still going on and the mainstream media are all over him.

I think he's a cool dude, I like what he stands for. Had the pleasure of saying hello to him in Shoreditch :D

I’m not asking if you find the old Russell Brand aka womaniser and comic funny, annoying or whatever, but he seems to be hell bent on spreading some sort of anti capitalistic agenda.

Yup, pretty much. Even the capitalists, especially the capitalists, know that capitalism is broken.

Beware, fellow plutocrats, the pitchforks are coming
Nick Hanauer is a rich guy, an unrepentant capitalist — and he has something to say to his fellow plutocrats: Wake up! Growing inequality is about to push our societies into conditions resembling pre-revolutionary France. Hear his argument about why a dramatic increase in minimum wage could grow the middle class, deliver economic prosperity ... and prevent a revolution.

Capitalism again destroying the economic prosperity built up by socialism. Down with the bankers! Take money from the rich (except mine), down with corrupt politicians, down with property ownership. Vote Labour, no wait I mean don't vote at all!

I reckon just a few more sound bites and I'll be ready to run for PM.

Oh wait no I can't do that either because I'll become one of them, dammit, this is hard, Brand is beginning to earn my respect.
