Russell Brand.

The human brain doesnt fully mature till age 25.
Ironically a lot of the same people trotting out lines like this, pretending a 16 year old doesn't know what they're doing and couldn't possibly consent to sex also think that 8 year olds kids are able to understand enough to decide to take hormone blockers and change their gender

RB has always struck me as a narcissist, I didn't like his comedy stuff and any clips of movies with him in have annoyed me (I don't think I've seen the whole of one with him in it). It comes as no surprise to me that he was a complete sleaze ball who took advantage of his position and fame to get what he wanted out of situations and relationships. Whether or not he did anything illegal doesn't really bother me on a personal level but if he did actually commit rape then I hope he goes to jail for it. As he's basically relegated himself to youtube anyway I can't even see it having that much effect on his career.

Never liked the guy, always seemed to be a bit of an idiot. And when he went on to his preachy YouTube career, he just came across as someone who read a thesaurus quickly before he jumped on and tried to use as many big words as he could

Definitely not surprised to hear all this come out

Why is it creepy for two people of legal age to consensually engage in some kind of relationship?

And really why should anyone give a flying toss about some random finding their actions "creepy". It's subjective and meaningless.

I could, I'm sure, find any number of people who thought a 40 year old dating a 23 year old was "creepy". People just want to impose their own ideas of social acceptability on others. Screw those people. If it's legal it's legal. If you think it shouldn't be, campaign to get the age of consent increased.

Because although 16 is the age of consent they are legally still children. So someone in their 30s or older having a relationship with a child is creepy. We should have a law in this country raising the age to 18 unless the other person in 21 or under.

Of the four allegations three seem to be a case of "he says, she says" without any further evidence given. But wouldn't the rape accusation be fairly easy to provide evidence for? The Times says it has seen medical records. So presumably they do exist. I expect swabs would have been taken which would offer DNA evidence if they are kept this long. So if the allegations are true then I hope the woman makes a police report. It would give her closure and should also allow Brand to fight the allegation rather than it being a trial by media.

I am quite in favour of a change of law so that anyone who is 16 or 17 can only consent to sex with someone up to two years older than themselves. We can debate the actual ages and gaps but I think something like this would be sensible.

Even with that evidence it would still boil down to his word vs hers, he says it was all consensual and she said he raped her.

Supposedly he turned up by my work (GOSH) in a gold Range Rover recently and I then I spotted him seemingly doing laps around the buildings with his dog. A bit odd.

These allegations don't come as a surprise.

Comes to show at 16 females know EXACTLY what they were doing. They are not stupid or naive. But society wants to gives them a pass.

Women know from a very young age how to play the game with males to get what the want. Sexually and non sexually.

Jesus Christ. You think 16 year olds are fully matured?

That girls know from a much younger age how to flirt doesn't make them fair game. Bloody hell some of the posts on this thread have me seriously questioning if the police shouldn't be searching some internet histories.

Oh just a bit. What a bizarre post.

I saw him in a Tesco near Reading yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him asking him for photos or anything especially given the current media attention. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”. I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off.

When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, sorry but you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

99% of rape accusations are he said, she said. It why 99% never even see a court room and those that do have a terrible conviction rate.

Allegedly...

Interestingly, there have also been calls to lower the age of consent in the UK, too. It's worth pointing out that, of course, this isn't intended to legitimise older men partnering with young teens, but it's obviously not true that everybody thinks 16 year olds are incapable of consenting or understanding.

There is a massive range of opinions on this (although again, not necessarily on older men with teens).
