Russian airliner missing over Egypt

I've been to Egypt twice. Once down the Nile and once to Sinai. Had a wonderful time on both holidays and saw things that you literally cannot see anywhere else in the world.

You can see loads of things that are unique without going to a muslim country.

The Foreign Office has been warning against all but essential travel to the area for quite some time with Sharm a tiny little speck on the map supposed to be safe.
Well 220 Russians found out it isn't.

When are you going to go again? I've always wanted to go to Sinai, mainly to see St Katherine's monastery, but I think my future holidays will be limited to Europe and the USA.

We were looking at going next year actually, though that is truly under advisement at the moment :p

Of course you can, what relevance does that have if you want to see what remains of ancient Egypt?

Well there comes a time when wanting to see a few ruins would be pretty irrelevant if the country was not safe.

Of course, but to say that you will never travel there is of course your own choice, to brand anyone that chooses to an idiot is ill thought and ill advised. I count myself fortunate to have been able to see what remains of ancient Egypt.

Fair enough I'll change it to ill-advised.

Well if its anything to go by, maybe it would be beneficial seeing these things, before IS start destroying them, like they have in other parts of the world.

Although saying that, I think its uttertly pointless going on holiday when your safety is unknown unless you are stuck poolside.

Egypt has had plenty of terrorist attacks over the years. Just because the foreign office has stuck a tiny green safe spot over that resort I personally wouldn't consider it 100% safe.

To be honest though you can get shot, mugged and all sorts in countries we would consider safe.

If you go on holiday to any muslim country you're an idiot.

If you go on holiday to any muslim country you're ill-advised.

Xenophobic comment to start with, then changed the wording in order to attempt to appear less xenophobic which failed massively but still managing to come across as a troll looking to get a rise out of people by peddling unneccessary hate. Well played.

Just been on the news that security staff at the airport are even today asking for £15 to let you bypass security so you can see why a bomb could easily be smuggled onto a plane.

Saying you're an idiot or ill-advised going to a muslim country on holiday is not xenophobic by any means unless you have an agenda.

Have a look at the top 10 most dangerous countries in the world and come back and tell me going on holiday there is not stupid.

Russia peeved because we're not sharing intelligence information with them. Can't be that difficult to work out why.

Also sounds like Putin is a bit peeved that we didn't wait for the outcome of the official investigation, possibly because it removes the option for them to make sure the investigation produces the best outcome for the Kremlin. We got our story out before they got theirs for a change - we're learning.

88 holidaymakers including 11 British were gunned down at Sharm in 2005

62 murdered at Luxor in 1997.

220 blown out the sky this week.

Don't think I'll be going anywhere near the place.

Add up those numbers and divide by the number of tourists who've visited Egypt since 1997.

Would you not visit New York either then?
