Ryzen 3900X thread

I can't get my 3x case fans to ramp up when the CPU/GPU gets hotter. They sit at 600rpm regardless.

They are all connected to the Aorus x570 Xtreme system fan headers

They are Fractal Design Dynamic X2 GP-14 PWM fans. I've gone in to the Smart Fan on the BIOS, and linked them to the CPU temperature.

In 'Auto' mode they go up to 900 rpm

In PWM mode they sit at 600 rpm

They are rated from 500 to 1700 rpm.

Edit - Derp, I guess Fractal must have changed the fans supplied with the case at some point, as I just realised mine are all 3 pin fans so they must be the older Fractal Design Dynamic X2 GP-14 that only goes to 1000 rpm, so that makes sense.

So all you watercoolers with 3900X what paste are you using cpu to block?
I had to use some old Gelid extreme in my hurry to build but am seriously considering the need for some fresh high performance paste.
Pushing some high manual overclocks for fits & giggles and temps have been 95 testing at times.
I have 2 cores that will run faster than 4.3 but only with increased volts.
Yes I know I should sit back and enjoy but chasing numbers can get obsessive!

Mines hitting 82 as well, but averaging 75-77. I'm using a Corsair H100i AIO cooler and I'm sure it's installed properly. Steedie's hitting high 70's-80's too.

I'm a little suspicious of the 61 result. I can only imagine it hitting that under 100% load if undervolted and cooled with a custom loop. Can't imagine any standard air or AIO cooler keeping it that cool.

Yeah sorry I should have said. 2x 360 rads. Thermal take fans. Alphacool block.

Thermal grizzly paste

Just got a 3900X, installed it and first boot took a long time. CPU temp 36C idle, 67C cinebench, score = 3118. think mem is @ 2400. max clock reported @4569Mhz

That's common, its just the BIOS recognising its not a Ryzen 1000 or a Ryzen 2000, its a Ryzen 3000, they all do it fist time instillation.
it takes 1 minute 40 seconds to boot now, took < 10 seconds before?
Just set mem to 3600 using xmp, should be cl17,18,18,38,56 but its @ cl18,18,18,38,85, t1 but it is 4*8 so...

Almost same cb score as with 2400 mem, 4 points more...

My C:\ drive is an old SM951 m.2, its the AHCI version though, just tested it and it get 2GB/s read and 1.2GB/s write so should be ok. going to run an sc cmd to test for errors.

If you can't sort it it might be worth asking on your board vendors public forum, they are pretty active these days with all the new boards and their niggles floating around.
