My 3900x seems fine with the high outside & indoor temps. I've only had my 3900x 9 days but it performs as expected and I've enabled pbo and got myself 32 gig of DDR4 3600 (2x16 gb sticks) from 32 gig of DDR4 3000 (4x8gb sticks).
Max temp I've hit is about 73 on stress test with a 240 aio (my first aio ever actually).
Cleaner and easy to use a aio over my whopping NH D15. I may go back to air when I get a aio failure but this aio was well priced and I'd thought I'd give it a go along with a new cpu (went from a 8700k to 3900x in my main rig) I already had a B450 Tomahawk max (two actually) and it runs the 3900x like a champ. Other tomahawk runs a 2700x (using the NH D15) and it's my server/2nd gaming rig in mancave.
Wasn't going to wait for 4000 series as its always a waiting game. May look into it in another year but as, I do a good deal of video encoding the 3900x and my turing nvidia card are quite superb in that area.

Just over a year old and my 3900x was the best investment have ever made. All water setup and with new msi beta bios performance is a lot better.

I've just got one of these for £380.

I have a 1700 with an Asus X370. I figured this would be the best upgrade path as the Ryzen 4000 series wouldn't work.

So, if I sell my 1700 for £100, for £280 I should be getting around a 100% performance boost right?

I think this is the best way to go and I can then do a full upgrade when we are probably on the second generation of 5nm.

I did the same but came from a 1600X, don't know if you are hot on these types of things but a new BIOS and audio drivers was released few days ago for the X370 on the Asus website

This is not right.

My X370 Asus Prime + 3900X is putting out some crazy voltages on stock settings.

Ramping to 1.48v in HWinfo. I've tried lowering the main CPU voltage to 1.2v but it is still going up to 1.48v peak.

Hi guys, just wondering which power plan is best for this CPU? Balanced or Max Performance? Also what do you set your CPU min / max state to in relation to the fan? I think by default min is 99% and max is 100%. Thanks!

+1 for the 1usmus power plan. I've had my 3900X just over a month and I've settled for 4.45GHz all core @ 1.33v. With my NZXT Z73 I'm seeing low 50c during gaming and high 60c when exporting videos in premiere Pro. Very happy with this chip and I'll probably stick it in my partner's PC and grab a 4900X when they're released. She has a 2700X that is a crap clocker so this would be a decent upgrade for her.

A good one I went for on mine was 1 ccx 4.5ghz and the rest 4.4ghz kept gaming fast and multitasking way above stock clocks

What’s the difference between 1usmus power plan and the AMD chipset plan?
Since Windows 2004, i don't see any difference to be honest. I'm sure in the past, on the previous Windows build, i saw higher clock speeds with the 1usmus profile but now they are identical for me in terms of clock speeds on ST and MT workloads.

What is this overclock like? I've just tweaked it using Ryzen Master which was quite user friendly.

CCD0 - 4.3ghz
CCD1 - 4.2ghz

1.275v - Temps at 72c

OCCT stable 45mins+

Cinebench R15 - 3237, I have 3200mhz memory though.

I'm guessing Ryzen Master can't apply settings on startup? And my X370 bios can't overclock per CCD?

I'll have to overclock just to 4.2 then right in Bios?
