Salman Rushdie attacked

Where were the crusades by Islam that have lead to the deaths of hundreds in Europe and the UK over the last decade?

Aside from some jingoistic "war on terror" language aren't the actual religious crusades taken as being events from the middle ages rather than recent decades?

Specific crusades aside, there was historical Muslim conquest in Europe:

Salman Rushdie is a great author. The Satanic Verses is his “spycatcher“ though.

It’s a crying shame to see the right/frothers piggyback on this, that is not what he would want at all I am sure.

Perhaps if the usual suspect aka Tony Edwards didn't start mentioning Trump and right wingers the thread may not have derailed. He does it in every thread like this though.

He would fit in so well at a forum I've recently left

Not me. Im not the deluded one here. I accept there are both crazy muslims and crazy Trump supporters trying to kill innocent people often.

This is what extemist do.
Well go on then.
List the amount of times trump supporters have gone on killing sprees then we will check that against those committed in the name of Allah.

As they both do it often they should tally up together no?

I would think he would have not wanted to get stabbed over a fictional book he wrote nearly 40 years ago just because one of the leaders of the Shia sect of Islam took offence, rather than Rushdie caring about what a bunch of folks on a PC components shop internet forum think.

Because we have some younger folk on here too, just a reminder that it wasn't "just" a Fatwa issued, there were also dozens of terror attacks across the world specifically due to the Fatwa with book-stores being heavily targetted, so much so that many refused to carry the book in-case a few of the followers of usually tolerant and peaceful Shia sect of Islam tried to kill them for it, and all because 1 person effectively said "it's OK if you murder people over this as long as it's for this religious reason" just like with Charlie Hedbo etc.

A fair recap.
