Samsung Galaxy Note: 5.3", 1200x800 SuperAMOLED, S-PEN stylus, 2500mAh attery... *phew*

I was like this with my GS2. In the end I lost patience and flashed a number of different ROMs. Ended up with Cyanogenmod. Really liked it but the videop performance was way down on the stock ROM.

Of course, a matter of days after I rooted and flashed the official update was released.

No real problem but getting back to stock to sell to envirofone was a real pain. I'm going to try to hold out for official JB!!!

By the looks of things the UK JB firmware is not out yet (check here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=1&model=GT-N7000&pcode=0#firmware). It's likely anyone that's already had an OTA update bought their Note (perhaps indirectly) from Germany. It was about £100 cheaper compared with the UK when I bought mine.

If you're keen to install JB asap then you can find stock ROMs and installation guide below. Easy peasy and no rooting required. German firmware (N7000XXLSZ N7000OXALSZ) will be fine.

just had a Samsung courier pick up my (10 month old) Note on Friday to go back for repair. no one could hear me speak when i called them or they called me.
anyone else have this problem?

You weren't on EE or TMobile were you? as I've had problems like this, sounding like the phones is underwater when talking and taking ages to progress the call...... apparently EE have been having issues with the network and in my area 2 masts were down :/

thanks for the reply.

indeed i'm with T-mobile.
although i could hear people clearly when they were talking, they could not hear me at all. i might add that when i called people.. i had no ring tone, but could hear them speak after a few seconds if they answered..

guess the phone could come back with a note saying its not faulty then. :(

Warning for peeps

I had some major battery issues, wouldnt last a day where as before it was lasting 2+

turns out i had some type of virus that was installed along with a game, (no idea if it was a virus tho)

It forced media player to be active all the time, and Google+ was showing 50% useable and keeping the phone awake ALL THE TIME!

I was forced to do a factory reset and now i have my battery life back.

Possibly! :( I was also experiencing calls not having a ring tone too, and It took multiple phone restarts for text messages to come through!, I hope they have fixed this problem in my area as it was hopeless trying to do anything.

Any ideas which app?

I had something similar this week but just assumed it was from messing around with roms/kernels...

It all started happening after i installed a Game, I uninstalled it though as it kept sending me notifications.

I removed it from my app list so i can tell you its name :(

From time to time mine will suddenly eat battery for a few hours for no apparent reason, usually fixed by restarting it. Some say its caused by disconnecting the charging lead while the display is on (apparently sometimes results in the CPU never going properly idle as it thinks the display is still on even when its not until restarted) but I realised recently I had mine setup for syncing with Spotify on my desktop over wifi and had forgotten all about it - I think sometimes that gets its knickers in a bit of a twist and keeps the phone awake.
