The tip of the pen has to be pressed in for it to register on screen. If it's registering without touching the screen then perhaps there is a bit of dust wedging the nib in or... are you using the phone upside down?
 
Pen accuracy is fine for me... however yes it can register when its not touching the screen :( not usually a problem for me the only app so far I've found it happens in is a terminal emulator where for some reason if the pen is within 1-2cm of the phone it spams ~~~~~~~~~ into the input.

My wife said that when I got mine, and my daughter has raved about it since day 1
the strange thing is my wife says its very big but at home she uses it more than her own SG2 and so does my daughter

after having this for a few weeks now I can never go back to squinting at the smaller screens

what car mounts are recommended from users??
 
I'm so torn between this and the SGS2 - this has the same hardware doesn't it? just a faster cpu?

I'm not due to upgrade till August so I'll have to pester 3 to see if they'll get me one in :D

Failing that it'll be November before I get rid of my Spica :(
 
Argh! I keep missing out on the good contract deals!

I saw one on UKhotdeals for £100 + £25/month over 18 months (600mins / 600txt / 500Mb T-mobile), but it they had just sold out :(

Afaik it's the same on both, atleast I've not seen anything to suggest otherwise, and the Tegrak Overclock app gives the option to lock both the SGS2 and Note GPUs to 267MHz (the higher of the 2 standard speeds on the SGS2).

Looking at some posts on XDA 267 is the normal speed for the Note too.

I think I sussed it, it was my nail touching the screen :o :p
 
Orange Out Of Stock for Two Weeks

Great thread, this has pretty much confirmed that I *want* one of these!

Only one problem... Orange website showed stock of the Note right up until my upgrade date two weeks ago and then - boom - out of stock ever since! I call orange upgrades every couple of days and they keep saying '150 due in that day' and 'call back next day' ... but they never show up - I think I'm being fed a pack of lies.

I'm 90ish days from the end of a great 24 month deal on an original HTC Desire. I have been paying ~£26/month for a Canary 35 package with unlimited data and texts + 700 free loyalty minutes. Got the phone for free.

Bit disappointed with the upgrade deal that I'm being offered. Orange want £99 up front for the phone and £31/month for the Panther 31. I lose all my loyalty minutes. That said I have been thinking of taking out a spotify subscription so the Deezer swappable does have £10/month value to me.

Would I be offered a better deal if I waited until the actual end of my contract and threatened to leave?

Fonts...

For those of you wanting to change font there are a whole bunch here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=894397. Just download the zip, install the apk and then the font will be available in the settings.

I've been using MyriadWebPro and i really like it. It's really easy to read and is a little more quirky than the default font.

What kind of battery life do people get with this? If for some strange reason the S3 doesn't live up to the hype then the Note is my 2nd choice for sim free purchase.

We also just got a new gigantic dist centre to speed this all up so I'd call every day (try the 10am lull I'd suggest) for the next few. We don't sell a lot of these so you'll probably be able to get one.
