I understand that, my 'pain in the ass' comment was slightly tongue in cheek, I should have added a smiley!

As I said, I really like the device and even though I think it's more trouble to use in some situations I'm still having to fight off getting one because I do think it's that good.

As a follow up to my last comment about comfort, I'll concede that if I was on the phone for an hour long call or something then the difference would probably be greater and maybe then the Note would become less comfortable. My calls aren't that lengthy so I've not experienced it.
 
Tefal, some highly recommended apps:

Titanium Backup (Remove or freeze unwanted apps)
Voodoo OTA RootKeeper (Temporarily hides the root, needed for some apps)
Sky Go (If you have a sky movies/sports package at home)
Sixaxis Controller (For connecting a control pad wirelessly to the phone)
Pool Rebel (If you like pool games)
GTA3 (If you like.. games!)
TubeMate (Lets you download youtube videos straight to your phone)

...are the ones I can remember from the top of my head. :)

But just to answer the question about why I thought it would be a pain.. is because I went into a shop the other day.. had a good look at one.. and it's massive lol. I can see why they are desirable.. it's a mini tablet, and much easier to browse on.

Go on, get one, you know it makes sense. Just think how much quicker and easier it would make posting about how offensively large it is!
 
heh I think the only phone calls i make are ones that are so short it's quicker to phone than type a txt :p

what is all this "rooting" stuff anyway?

what are the advantages etc?

Rooting gives you superuser access to the phone, so you can do more with it.

As it's Android though you can do an awful lot to begin with so I wouldn't worry about that for now, I think you'll probably be overwhelmed by the amount of things you can do considering your current phone! :eek:
 
i was worried about the size but that is perfect :D about the same as my old psp but soo much slimmer and lighter :D


if i can get rayman and final fantasy 7 working on it it will be the ultimate :D

Remember you'll actually have a good camera/HD video camera with you now as well. Useful!
 
oh good lord i've been riding on the fact i haven't owned a camera in over a decade to avoid posting pictures of my cooking >.<
