Samsung Galaxy Note: 5.3", 1200x800 SuperAMOLED, S-PEN stylus, 2500mAh attery... *phew*

I've just took the plunge and decided to upgrade to this phone! Not sure if i got a good deal or not. I'm getting 300 Mins Unlimited Texts, 500Mb Data + 2Gb wifi allowance for £25 a month of a 24 month term. Getting the handset for free too!

Sav the same for 20.50

You can get it for £20.50 per month but with less minutes, 100, on Orange and a swappable.

Save £4.50 per month?

quick questions guys, does your pens tip move at all? I knocked mine against the phone hard by accident, hopefully i didn't damage it.

I have to say, the battery life on the Note is brilliant! 1 Day and 14 Hours it lasted for me yesterday.

Mine easily does 2 days of moderate useage after a few charging cycles - probably about ~50-60 hours. Thats only about 15-20 minutes of phone calls but a fair bit of listening to music and light web-browsing/youtube clips.

I've started using ICS Stunner now - everything seems to work except the stock video camera - like all AOSP based ROMs the videos don't save but you can use 3rd party video camera apps. It has a tablet mode and it's really easy to change the DPI as well.

I put this on my Note earlier, loving it so far. It feels a lot snappier than the default ROM with touchwiz.

Have you bothered changing the DPI yet? It feels "tighter" anyway.

I noticed some screen burn on phone last night :(

I'm pretty unimpressed, this was the best phone money could buy when i bought it 5 months ago. I thought screen burn was a thing of the past. Pictures later when i get home

Got one of these with a new contract from Vodafone last wednesday and they are still out of stock.

Guy on the phone reckons it could be a week or more before they get any more :(

Apparently, they are quite popular :)

Calling it old hardware is a bit of a stretch. What currently available phones better it?

he called it older - not old. Snapdragon S4 and the newer Exynos will be better. The current Exynos 4412 is still great through - the Note should be great with ICS on it.

The thing is if this phone already does what you want it to do what's the point of upgrading unless you have upgraditis.

I can watch 720p/1080p mkvs, read books/comics, take notes and surf the web comfortably. How is another 2 cores gonna improve the experience ?. I can see myself keeping this phone for a 2 years no problem.

Yeah thats true to a degree, i mainly browse and watch youtube/streams on my phone so the size is great. But the screen in for example the one x is meant to be awesome. I just wish it was bigger :)

Also dont the one range have more ram n such for a smoother experience?

There is plenty enough RAM for normal use and I doubt that'll change in the next 2 years, my only concern for the future is running the likes of ubuntu in desktop mode.

Having owned this phone for the last couple of weeks, I really can't see me ever going back to anything smaller, the size is perfect, Iphones and SGS2 just seem absolute pap in comparison.
