Samsung Galaxy Note: 5.3", 1200x800 SuperAMOLED, S-PEN stylus, 2500mAh attery... *phew*

The size is not an issue
the Note is a really great bit of kit and I wont EVER be going back to the postage stamp sizes again.. the overall experience is far more pleasant than on my wifes G2 or my old Desire

Go for it! Once I saw that enough people were having success on XDA forums with the Mobile Odin method, I managed to start the ICS install within the 15 minute late break at work, had it actually flashing the ROM on the way out to the car. Lose the fear people and go for it. (If you are fed up of waiting!). ;)

Any one got the official ICS yet according to a big well know site its just had the big World wide roll out with a whole bunch of goodies included specially for the Note

and how do you find it? i can sell my s2 for around 210-230 add ~110 and get a new note and i would love a bigger hd screen but im still unsure about the size as i cant have a proper feel for it as the ones in CPW are locked in a huge cradle :(

Its amazing, the size isn't an issue for me. Fits in my pocket fine, web browsing looks amazing, comics look just as good and can easily fit a whole page on in portrait and its readable. Thumb keyboard makes it even better to type on too I find.

I don't regret it one bit and there's already atleast 2 people at working thinking of getting one after having a play with it.

Got my eye on the Note at the moment and have just found this deal which is £8 per month cheaper that 3 offer, need The One Plan for the Unlimited Tethering. Never actually used a third party before, are they reputable? Any catches? Thanks for any advice/info.

That's a good deal and gives you the security of tether that cheaper imported Note and payg sims can't guarantee and no cash outlay.

Though if you can tether on 3 or Giffgaff payg sims you could save £150+ and not be stuck with a 2 year contract some people tether on these sims and others report failure.

Need some help with here.... a setting has been activated, somewhere, and I can't switch it off. Every time I receive an SMS message the phone reads out "Message from James Smith" rather than play the notification sound. It doesn't happen if I receive an email, I get the usual Email notification sound. This happens even if the phone is on Silent.

Any ideas how to turn this off?

Turn off driving mode under Vlingo (double tap home button).

You can turn on and off the various sounds for things happening.. I have a Lord of the Rings Golum voice for incoming emails and texts which I find amusing
I turned some of the other sounds off though as they got annoying after a while

I don't mind the 2 year contract as The One Plan sim only is £25 p/m so by my reckoning the handset will only be costing me £5 a month, £120 in total. Currently using Three MBB at £15.99 p/m so will be able to get shot of that and just use The One Plan tethering, might well go for it. Good hspa coverage where I live, average 6 - 9 mbps. Cheers for reply.

To get the vouchers use the samsung apps app to get samsung hub app then go to the exclusives icon and grab what you want, get a sky go app from somewhere and a kind soul might share their code with you.
