Samsung Galaxy Note: 5.3", 1200x800 SuperAMOLED, S-PEN stylus, 2500mAh attery... *phew*

I'm glad it isn't just me that is suffering from crappy battery life in ICS. I thought it would settle down once the battery stats have been regenerated, but 3 days on it's absolutely rubbish. Unplug 8am and down to 70% by lunch time with medium usage! Struggling to get through the day now, where as before it was fine.

10% battery consumption for 37 minutes display on time.

Tempted to go back to GB, never thought I'd say that!

I think I'm going to pick one of these up on pay day, been to cpw and tried out a few phones and although I would never usually consider anything so hilariously big I actually liked it the most :o
 
Got one of these yesterday at the CPW for £21 per month with 100 mins, 500 texts and 750mb internets. Could maybe do with more data but if I stay off Netflix then I'm sure it will be fine.

I have a GS2 which I had intended to keep for times when the Note would be too big but have since decided it's getting sold.

The only issue I have is what to do with it at the gym as I'm pretty worried about damaging it. I had a rubber case for my S2 which did the job, anybody using something similar for the Note? Any gym goers have a solution for keeping it safe?

For anybody else thinking of going from the S2 to the Note......do it. Been thinking about it for months and the price is now so low that it makes perfect sense.

Get a Sansa clip+ for the gym for £20. The note has absolutely terrible sound quality anyway.
 
Thanks for the suggestion Kree but I'm pretty fond of having access to Spotify. I'm not sure there are any cheap mp3 players that would work with spotify.

The audio quality seems fine to me. I've been careful not to go down the route of spending lots on audio equipment, ignorance is bliss and all that.
 
Audio quality is ok, pretty average for a phone but nothing particularly wrong with it or particularly right with it. At worst is on par with any mainstream mp3 player.

Oh and netflix works really well with the note if you have wifi :D pretty easy to use a TON of data tho if you try using it on 3G/H.

A factory reset would probably sort it, bit of a pain though I know! I think the consideration needs to be that this is a bit pretty major update, like going from XP to 7 or something. Starting afresh is the best way to make sure everything is working ok.

I'll give a factory reset a go, shall see what happens. It's not too much of a pain with the likes of Titanium Backup. :).

I did a factory reset, it didn't make any difference to my lousy battery life in ICS.
 
I got the OTA update for my .de purchased note this morning, completely underwhelmed so far. Doesn't feel any quicker and a lot more RAM seems to be being used than previously, also for some reason Vlingo has used a quarter of my battery usage despite the fact I haven't (ever) used it. I am hoping it will settle down when I have a normal days usage tomorrow.

BTW does anyone know if there is a way to make the desktop rotate so I can use it horizontally? I always find it irritating when using apps and have to turn the note 90 degrees to select the next app.

I don't *think* touchwiz can do this, most other launchers from the market can though. Give one a go...
 
Battery life doesn't seem that bad to me yet, will need a few more days usage to decide but the extra little features in ICS are very nice. I am still using Go Launcher and Widget Locker with my own wallpapers so no real complaints from me in terms of looks, it's definately much smoother then before especially the stock browser. This will happily tide me over now until the Note 2. :)

Decided to just order one from buymobilephones on T-Mobile :p

Discovered after a lil digging that I can port my number upto 90 days after start of contract on T-Mobile so couldn't see the point in waiting.

Been using an iPhone 3g as my main phone since christmas when I sold my Xperia X10i, think I'm going to rather enjoy this upgrade :D
