Samsung NC10

Anyone know where to pick up a cheap power supply/adaptor for the NC10? Most places seem to want £25-60 for it. That's just plain ridiculous.

Had a look on the bay but I'm a bit dubious about them. One supplier from Hong Kong has one listed but it just looks like a mobile phone charger, i.e. without the big black transformer.

I know it's ridiculous quoting myself but I thought I would put some closure to my query. I took the plunge and ordered an elcheapo version from the bay and am happy to advise that it works a treat. Came within a week which is very impressive from Hong Kong.

I've been wondering that, and how much extra life I'd get over the standard one? (Think it's 5200mAh?)

If it's not too much I might upgrade and keep the original as a spare, in my experience laptop batteries don't last longer than about 5 years before you're left with a 5 minute battery life, and I tend to run computers a lot longer than that. :P

I'm finally running windows 7 on my nc10 have yet to try out any 720p films, but so far I'm liking it. Do any of you guys have and tips of tricks for us running windows 7 then on the nc10?

there about £65 for the samsung ones and £30/40 for the generic ones which i wouldnt touch with a 10ft cattle prod, heard people say they are getting 12 hours out of the 7800 battery but thats most likely people just getting the most out of them and not real world use if you know what i mean

Thats mad! 12 hours...

I have got over 7 out of mine just to test it, brightness off, wifi off, CPU on half speed and just left it showing the desktop. Real world use I normally get about 5 at a stretch. Which is enough really, just I do flatten it occasionally.

Anyway, something to bare in mind, cheers.

i jsut got an NC10 today and installed the win7 RC on it. runs well, even with opera and 40+ tabs open :)

can anyone recommend a good carry case for it? the one you get with it isn't really for carrying

it does run well - although to be fair, i only had a few hours of messing around etc :)

i am also dual booting with XP so i can still take advantage of samsung power profiles to maximise battery life when on flights. might have to do a comparison on battery life between the 2 OSs

I think I will be keeping XP on it, wouldn't want to go fully Windows 7 yet, anyone tried Mac OS on it?

Well I'm still looking but if I go for the netbook route its going to be the NC10, I just can;t find anything better spec wise or for the price.
Any golden oldie games that folk are running?

just a thought

anyone tried sticking an os on the sd card slot? it work?

also any tried cutting the end off the sd card so its flush, seeing as its all just plastic other than being a bugger to get back out it should be fine, anyone tried this?

For those that are interested - in win7, i've been playing (on samsung battery saving mode - installed their software last night) x264 (AVC) dvd rips (more cpu demaning than mpeg4 ASP)

wifi is on, was charging overnight.

started @ 9:40am and it's now 1:30pm and it's still going. i'm expecting it to run till at least 2pm - that would mean continuous video playback of 4hrs 20 mins. hopefully longer. i have a little over an hour left of 'confessions of a dangerous mind' to go.

i figure that with ASP being used instead of AVC, the battery life would be a fair bit better. not to mention wifi being off.

me likey so far :)
