Samsung NC10

oooh, that's a thought. any NES/SNES emus that someone can recommend?

havnet played on a nintendo since i sold the consoles

I used to use ZSNES on my old desktop pc and it ran perfectly, and that was on a Pentium III 333Mhz thing so I would imagine the NC10 will have no problems.
I've just bought an 18 month old 13" Macbook to serve my netbook/laptop needs so I hope I can get some Emus for that!

ok, just did a test on XP, wifi off etc. opened up a load of divx tv shows (same as on the test i did in win7) in a playlist on mpc-hc.

started playing @ 10:30am on the dot. with battery critical levels set to 3%, it just went into hibernate now @ 16:06

much better than on windows 7 (4hrs 38 min). XP gave 5hrs 36 min.

BUT, win7 didnt dim the screen. hopefully i can get that fixed thanks to another thread and retest under win7 (i prefer it to XP).

---
EDIT
----

ok, same test as in XP but on win7. same vids played. screen dimmed to 2 bars

started @ 8pm - went to hibernate just a min ago - makes it 5 hours 40 mins. sweet!

I just got my NC10 yesterday.

I want to install Win7 but I don't have a usb stick big enough. I do have an external usb HD though. I assume I can use this in the same way? I'm just worried that if I format it as per the guide I'll ruin the drive because it has its own files on there or am I talking complete rubbish?

If you format the external then you'll lose all your files on it, but I think you could partition it first using some of the free space on the drive, then you format only that area of the drive, using that for windows 7?

Next question,

When running off battery the screen brightness drops after a period of not using the keyboard, using the touch pad doesn't seem to register as activity. I've installed the synaptics pointing device driver and still no joy. I also can't scroll properly I just get a grey ubisoft sort of icon behind my mouse. Any ideas?

I also installed the Easy display and battery manager tools but they don't seem to run when I click on them.

Also I can't get flash player to work properly. Pages with a flash object on crash ie8.

EDIT: Uninstalled the battery manager software and its resolved the screen resetting its brightness.

My netbook is having issues getting on my network - wirelessly or wired it cannot seem to get a IP address - see the network, other laptops are ok on it, just takes ages aquiring network address, eventually coming up with limited connection!

Any ideas?

Ok, Just a question, I have just recived my N310 which i understand is pretty much the same yet in a different SKIN.

I have 2 questions;

1. Is it possible to up the onboard gfx memory to 256?
2. Also I am using the tool that changes the res to 1024x768, yet in games I wont let me select anything hight than 800x600, any advice would be super!

Thanks in Advance.
Adam,

I will upload some PICS asap.

anyone installed half life 2 on this? tried last night on win7 (640x480) and went fine for the first bit (fps 'seemed' fine) but then crashed. going to try it again tonight prolly on xp

quake 3 engine based games work very well though (COD, elite force, jedi knight)

there are videos of overclocked msi wind @2ghz running hl2 with no visibke issues but i dunno, a lot of peeps have the crash issue by the attic scene in city 17 when u leave the house through the window. ther is a way of overclocking the samsung also.

on a side note, does anyone else get slight electric shocks from their sammy when its pluged it, i mean very very slight static and barely noticeable. i get it on teh hedge and metalic strip by the lights. secondly, ive had mine since may and the battery life seems to have deteriotrated a lot any one else got taht issue

umm, no. any leccy shock and it's going back to ********! that's a fault

p.s i got HL2 going on XP at bare minimum settings. wouldn't work for a real FPS but this works
