Samsung NC10

How do you think these sammy's would stack up against a Toshiba NB205? That one has really caught my eye. For a 9hour battery, it seems to be small enough and nicely fitted unlike others that stick out on the bottom. Seeing how I'm not going to be watching HD movies on this thing, the screen is not an important feature. I just need to be able to stick 2gb ram in it, and an ssd and have a battery usage of at least 6+ hours to get me through my classes. I was all set to buy this thing until I read this thread. Can anyone give me a good comparison of the 2? Maybe a link to a review on these or just opinions. Thanks in advance.

just looking at one of these samsungs on a popular local electronics shop for £249 and the model number is NP-NC10-KA06UK it says the battery only lasts up to 4 hours is this the right one yo be looking at?, i thought they got upto 7 or more hours on them? how easy is it to install stuff on them if theres no DVD drive and what does vista and Windows 7 run like on these?

Got myself one today £249 , haven't they come down in price .

Just trying to get used to a different layout than I am used to .

So far very impressed , would like vista though .

got mine for 285 at launch so nearing to a year after launch its not that much less..... vista is easy and works well especially with 2gb if aero is turned off.

I didnt get a restore disk with this and would love to try out vista on it - any idea how I would be able to restore back to xp if I didnt like it?

putting xp back on mine been running W7 for a few weeks now and hate it  its just pants to use on my nc10

NC10 with HSPDA

Anyone know when this'll be in stock? It says it's in stock on the site but apparently that's incorrect, any idea on when the real stock will appear? Really want to buy one now :(

You could ghost the drive, there's a 6gb hidden partition for restoring it so it's probably worth taking a copy of it somehow.

Same reason why I went back to xp from windows 7 on my nc10. Intel need to release proper chipset drivers for windows 7. Currently the cpu has to update\draw all the windows making it sluggish in win 7. Nc10 with xp is nice and smooth.

have you got 2gb? mine was perfect with win 7 on and even vista with aero off

ref has my partition been wiped - no, I havent moved over from xp yet, just want to know how to return to xp with all the drivers etc if I need to.

You guys complaining about Windows 7 performance on the NC10 are doing something wrong, I'm afraid to say. It runs as well as XP and that's at worst! Several people on here will agree, and pretty much the Internet agrees too.

its not about performance for me i just i find it **** on a netbook with crap UI on a small screen, is that ok with you or do you want me to become a sheep and agree with you and say its the best thing since sliced bread

quick question - can anyone recommend a decent slipcase for the NC10? Think someone did mention one previously, but don't feel like trawling through 71 pages for it :)
