Fancy an upgrade to a 7200rpm drive based on these results :o

Not really woth it IMHO. These are my figures (from page 12 of this topic)

I've just been playing with the NC 10, just got it around 3hours ago.

Is it ok to take it off the mains charger? The little thing in the corner says its 100% full.

Well it does seem from the Harddrive results posted there is not much to chose between them including the 7200 RPM WD black which is about the fastest around.....Intresting

The Atom chip will handle 720p but no good with 1080p.

Martin

what should be used to play 720p? i tried outputting a sample 720p clip via the vga out onto my television and it couldn't handle it....i was using vlc and had allocated it max performance! the sample clip also had 6 channel sound, could this be what was causing the problem?

Well after much deliberation I have opted for a Swordfish sleeve case from the purple attired people only because I was bored and was passing by. Its just a typical neoprene case with velcro fold over flap.
Have been looking at a PortDesigns Miami case which I think has a pocket but colours were limited...

This is a little depressing, it looks like theyre actually testing my 1 day old NC10 instead of just sending out a new one straight away...as if i have nothing better to do than spend money sending back an NC10 that doesnt have a problem..in order to ask for another NC10.

I noticed a similar problem with my NC10. I goggled it and found your post. The grey spots seem to be in identical places as yours. Make of that what you will, but I've returned mine to dabs today. Hopefully they'll just replace mine. But it should be of some consolation you are not alone.

I had an Xvid 720p running under Media Player Classic - works better with older renderers when waving the mouse pointer over the video, but even VRM9 renderless was smooth once any overlays disappeared.

(Could be an issue with 720p films that have a lot of subtitles)

Sorry for not reading all the pages, but does this video play HD content smoothly? not when outputting it as you guys were talking about, but I mean on the actual Netbook, is 720p video smooth, flash formats, quicktime formats etc? Many Thanks for the help ;D, and if so, does it look good? quality/colour wise

Anyone having problems with intermittent connections when using the wireless?

Basically all looks good in the wireless connection in sys tray but frequently cant ping the gateway, starts working again and then starts dropping. Have upgraded to the latest drivers doesn't really seem to have made any difference. Anyone else having these sort of problems?
