Samsung NC10

Would this mean machine run tasks such as MSN, Internet Browsing (5 plus firefox tabs open), Word Docs, FTP (Filezilla) and Macromedia dreamweaver?

Thanks guys.

Basically I would like to use it for when I go back home from University but I do a lot of Internet Marketing and SEO and own a couple of websites so I want to make sure it can run 5 plus firefox tabs open, all the forums and marketing sites plus wordpress admin running and msn running and itunes or some sort of music player running.

I have up to £400 I want to spend on one so I am trying to keep my options open, any ideas?

Why do they not sell these Netbooks with the option of Windows on a solid state drive? I've only seen Linux as an option, and don't want the agro of having to put Windows on there.

I've seen some Windows version on SSD, but not many. Even a slight increase in the cost would I am sure be an appealing option for many.

Apparently there is a problem with the hard drive controller and windows drivers on the cheap SSD that has been widely reported. It translates as very poor performance of the drives under windows.

I am loving the NC10 - this combined with TiddlyWiki makes a fantastic note making/journal combo.

Its great for watching films too, great screen quality and excellent battery life

I love my sammy also. its brilliant is all i can say. worth every penny in my humble opinion. Not having my power hungry pc on all the time when doing small tasks such as .avi viewing or browsing is great .

Yep its a great bit of kit, I bought mine to save power and it does so much, more powerful than I thought.
Would be nice if the next gen ones had a better vid card and maybee a dual core atom, dont think Intel will allow it yet, but they will in the end as it is all money to them, especially when they see that the mini PCs that they will be using the dual core for, dont sell as good as netbooks do.

I hope this battery life issue some people are having doesn't turn into a major problem across the range. I worry having read some of the things about these style of battery as mine spends most of its time running off the mains and I gather this can cause problems.

Bought Stuff magazine this week and saw some info on the upcoming 9 and 10 inch Asus Tablets which looks absolutely awesome (except it was in white :p ).

My battery wear is upto 11 % after almost 2 months. So have removed the battery and run on mains, will only out the battery in when I'm going out with it.

Cant say I have used it, but isnt there a battery calibration setting in the bios that might do something to the battery 'problems'?
I only use mine for about 1-2 hours at a time so I lose track of the total battery life from a charge.
