Samsung NC10

I'm trying to install my 2Gb RAM module but cant open the back small screw!

Which screwdriver did you guys use, i dont think i have one small enough! :(

Be damn careful with whatever screwdriver you do use. The screws on the NC10 strip VERY easily. You want a decent star headed precision screw driver, or something like a jewellers screwdriver.

This what I did to install onto an external usb hard disk. A usb stick should be no different. This was run from vista so XP may differ. Follow it exactly.

Items in quotes mean you type it in as is without quotes.

1. Type in diskpart from a cmd promt as administrator
2. type "List Disk". Note down the disk number (known hitherto as NN) for the usb device. Triple check you have got the right one.
3. "Select Disk NN" (Replace NN with number reflecting your USB Drive)
4. "clean"
5. "create partition primary"
6. "active" (vista may prompt you to format it - ignore it)
7. "format fs=fat32 quick" (or "fs=NTFS" if your hd is large - won't let you format it to FAT32)
8. "assign"
9. "exit"

By doing this it broken my new 8Gb USB stick it appears on my computer but i cannot access it

Holy Hell this little bugger is amazing its so nippy its unreal

Yeah, the screws on the NC10 are actually Pozidriv rather than Phillips so you are likely to strip them with a Phillips.

They are defo Philips head screws on the black model...

They look like it but they are Posidrive, you can use a phillips but you will end up stripping the screws unless you are really careful. You will probably be fine opening the RAM door but if you plan and taking the thing apart you want the propper driver. The pit in the screw head goes to a flat rather than a point.

You know, I'm with mrk on this. Looking at my black NC10 right now, and the screws all around the back casing are definitely Phillips. I know what a posidrive screw looks like (with the extra "star" legs), and these defintely ain't posidrive!

They don't have the "star" legs so they may not be real posidrive screws but a phillips screwdriver will strip them. I managed to strip two screws when taking a white NC10 apart to change the hard drive, this was after I had taken about 4 screws out. After I stipped the second one I switched to a posidrive screwdriver and it was fine, the phillips doesn't seem to fit right into the slot.

Hmm, it could be actually 'in' the head if you get what I mean. Too pointed or something. Either way, regardless of what you do, you can still strip them all too easily.

Still cannot live Live Messenger to install on my W7 NC10. Application Error Reporting fails to install properly.

Anyone with W7 got WLM running on theirs?
