Samsung NC10

The fun part is restoring with Acronis made on a bootable USB stick :)
Ah boo. Any way of doing this while formatting the USB stick as NTFS? My restore image is 6GB...

I was thinking of replacing the HDD but I'm not really using it that much so haven't got much on it at the mo, plus I cant be bothered to reinstall everything either. Might do it when Windows 7 gets released.

You know, I'm with mrk on this. Looking at my black NC10 right now, and the screws all around the back casing are definitely Phillips. I know what a posidrive screw looks like (with the extra "star" legs), and these defintely ain't posidrive!

I think you're getting confused about all the screw head types.

Pozidrive are similar to philips in appearance, but are milled differently so that the edges of the screwdriver-head are parallel, rather than slightly tapered. Philips screwdrivers are notorious for rounding off pozidrive heads since they only engage at a very small area, and will be prone to slipping out of the screwhead.

See wiki for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pozidriv

orderoftheflame - are you the one who upgraded his wireless card to wireless-n? How easy was it to do?

I did, PM me and I'll email you over the guide I nicked from this guy. I put all his pics and words into a word document.
But it was pretty easy, hardest bit was trying not to break the bottom around the hinges when taking the bottom off.

There's no PMs here, my email is in my trust, but I don't have Word :)
I can make it out from those pictures though. Seems easy enough.

How hard is it to install XP on this instead of Vista? Or when you buy it does it come with no OS installed? Dont reckon my dad will like the change in OS

Been and got one with dad today. Great little laptop. Just a couple of questions

How do you hide the windows power metre in taskbar because there is already the samsung battery management? I have tried turning off the always show icon in advanced power options and it still stays there

How long does it need to be charged, at the moment it got plugged in for about 15 minutes and now am using it without being plugged in. There was no indicator or did it say in the manual how long to charge it for

Was a bit confused by the number lock on the keys and it coming up with 4 instead of u etc, but sorted now (fn F11 for anyone who doesnt know)
