That is a very odd number i've never seen mine estimate over ~350-400Hrs unless its tied to the client_state.xml editing?? Although not really sure if that would make a difference. Are they all estimating high or just the AP units?

The client_state.xml editing I took the esteemed Mr Toxic through won't have had this effect. He changed a value that is effectively the maximum amount of flops a task will be allowed to take before it times out. Its a 'safety feature' to stop tasks running on ad-infinitum...........

Working a treat so far, had nothing time out on me yet though the time out errors will no doubt have an impact on rac that does not concern me as much as it used to, am developing interests in other areas now :eek:;)

I know you like your games and i have said before try bioshock, do you have aps3 or 360? if so no probs loaning you the game. You'll be glad you played it i guarantee, then you can go for number 2. They've just announced bioshock infinite not due till 2012 but the trailer is amazing :D
Did i mention Bioshock is my faveourite game ever :D:D

There may also be a side effect with max tasks per day for your CPU. However, provided you can get enough GPU tasks, you could always push some across to the CPU with Re-schedule...

I don't know if aborts affect that part of the quota system. Berkeley hasn't really mentioned it, so it seems to be a case of suck it and see....
 
It works for now thats what matters, i would rather a lower rac than start trashing wu's by the hundreds again.
I am chuffed i got my first ever astropulse wu's though, am just reading up on the science as i seem to have scuppered the tv, i will be reading a lot more in future :)
Meh....wait.no.yes..can..of course....in between chapters i think i will shift ps3 and xbox in with the pc's forgot the monitor has hdmi in...i love cabling:eek::D

It's not so much the "throwing myself into something lock stock and barrel" its the "if i did not" like me mum used to say "you go ahead son, plenty time to sleep when your dead". I can't imagine a scenario where i was not trying to unravel or understand something, either way it beats middle age and a copy of the peoples friend.:D

I always feel kind of sad when I stuff a copy of that through someone's door! They always seem to have "Knit this stunning cardie" or "Crochet this beautiful tea cosey" on the front! I've got one person who gets all upset if her weekly copy doesn't arrive on Thursdays!

It won't suddenly stop working. However, there is nothing to say that the next batch of CPU tasks you download won't do the same. Still, if they do, with your new mending powers, you can "mend" them :D:D:D:D
 
Afternoon all, good to see it started up smoothly, i'm just miffed i stayed up all night to catch sight of a meteor shower no luck at all. Still it's supposed to be at its peek early hours of tommorrow morning around 4pm north east direction 45deg, no you won't all wake up blind and surrounded by triffids but it's a great opportunity!:D
