Show us your kitty cats

******* sticky balls!! With three cats coming and going all the time the damn things get everywhere. When you do the hoovering it's like a machine gun in reverse, dink dink dink dink dink dink going up the pipe!! I have never known it to be as bad as it is this year.

Next door are to gardening what Hannibal Lecture is to vegan and the cat comes in smothered in them.
She had been fine for a while, but has just decided to go back into the ball jungle...

Apparently maine coons keep growing until 4-5 years old, so another few years left yet but I think they've done the majority now by 1.5yrs old. Fluffy will get bigger than Eeyore though, he's got huge paws and features in comparison. You need to come visit again

We have 2 kittens (brother and sister, kittens from a rescue centre) and on Monday the boy got neutered. We have had them both about a month now.

He came home the same day and he has been fine (apart from the cone of shame) but his sister now hisses at him, does not want to know him or want him anywhere near her anymore (she is not spayed).

Before he was neutered they always where together, playing together or sleeping along each other.

At times she can be ok with him but as soon as she smells his behind she starts hissing at him again and repeating the above.

I am seeing the vet tomorrow as he is having his 3 day check up after the operation so will bring it up then and see what they say but thought I would ask here and see if anyone had come across this.

Its like she knows its her brother but as soon as she smells his behind\cent its not his brother (Hormone change from the operation maybe).

EDIT - I forget to mention that the girl also went to the vets at the same time and had her 2nd jab, he stayed there, was neutered and also had his 2nd jab and came home 3 hours later.

@ED209 - This is quite normal in my experience when one cat returns from the vets. In an extreme case when one of our cats as hospitalised for a week it took fully two weeks for our other two cats (one of which was his brother) to accept him again. I think it's just down to the scent of the vets to be honest, and as you say possibly the hormone chages.

Cheers for the reply, its got to a point where last night we had to separate the 2 in case someone hurt the other as it was quite bad.

You'd think both of them going to the vets would help in that respect. Hopefully things will improve soon, but the only other advice I can give is don't force it and help them reintroduce slowly if you can. Feliway plugs can help soothe things too.

Yeah, we can hope.

That's what we are doing, just leaving them to it and keeping an eye on them both to make sure nothing bad happens.

I had similar with my two. Both males but Charlie had a reoccurring UTI and would end up in the vets for a few days. His brother Max would then seem to bully him around feeding time. I think because Charlie is a bit of a bulldozer Max had gotten used to having the space to himself. I fed Charlie at a higher height than Max for a few days (something to do with dominance) and it seemed to settle fairly quickly after that.

I've noticed a lot of tangled hair on Angel. She is an older cat now (18 years). I'm worried she isn't able to look after herself as much as before. I first found one tangle of hair which I have cut away as it was so bad (she was not impressed with me!) and have been brushing her regularly to keep the other matted fur at bay. But she isn't happy with me doing it.

Hades

Keep it up - don't let it get like Wilton - he adopted us when we had a renter for 2 yrs and he lived 3 doors down -They had really abandoned him.
See thread 15,076

OcUK meet Freyja and Jasmine.

"Rescued" from a breeder we have since reported. They are doing well in the heat and have met both of our dogs (Staffie 14 & Jack Russell 7), yet to meet my 8 year old cat as he's decided he doesn't want to be a brother at the moment and is living his alley cat outdoor fantasy (reality is he sits at the end of the garden failing to catch anything that flies).

We lost our 10 year old cat to cancer last month, she was in remission for 2 years but sadly, her time with us was cut short as it came back very aggressively.
