Show us your kitty cats

Could you contact Blue Cross? I think they will help with rehoming as we got our cat from them and the previous owners kept him up until we picked him up. They do also have fosterers if you cant keep them until they are ready to be adopted. My friend was one but it failed as she got too attached to the cat and ended up keeping him.

Thanks, I don't know much about Blue Cross, so I'll see if I can get in touch with them tomorrow :)

they're sure to get snapped up in an instant

See this I don't get, if you had these kittens and you really didn't want them any more, surely you'd at least try to sell them first and get a few ££ for them? At least then they'd have a chance at a decent home as well :(

Edit: actually, there's a thought, maybe they did and I can track them down... Not sure there's enough evidence for them to be charged with anything though :(

Yes, the dog is lovely, she's basically a cat in disguise, so perfect for us, she's still settling in though, we've only had her 2 months!

:(

You would be surprised. I have known what you would consider to be normal people commit shocking acts of cruelty simply because it was too much bother to do anything else.

Spoke to Blue Cross, and they are full. Their waiting list is full. Their Home Direct scheme is full. The waiting list for their Home Direct scheme is full. Same story from every other rescue I've spoken to :(

So the options are:

Let the RSPCA come and take them (nope).
Get them chipped & snipped and sell them to cover the costs (very hesitant to go down this route, I have very little faith in people :().
Find a family member/friend/work colleague who I know & trust who would like them (the best option, but so far no luck).
We have 2 new kittens  (doable, but far from ideal).

"Fun" times, but preferable to leaving the poor little mites to freeze & starve!

Yeah I'm feeding her tiny amounts right now, but she only has to taste it and she's throwing up almost immediately.

She's always been a pukey cat but this is something else. She just can't eat Felix anymore, one or two mouthfuls and she's puking up (and after the first 3 pukes it's mostly just bile...)

Which is a problem when your cat will only eat Felix :p They must have changed it somehow.

Have you tried Chicken breast? Proper cooked breast. Then you can deduce if she's throwing up all food. All cats like chicken breast.

Have you tried a place called "all for the love of paws" ? (Based in west mids) I've used them myself, was going to have a couple of rescues from them a year or so ago but had to back out due to family illness so couldn't commit the time to taking on pets.

Keep them, you know you want to :D

You can never have too many cats :p

I didn't - their listing on Catchat.org shows they are full :(

Shhhhh, stop it! :p

maybe easier to sell the dog :D

No comment... I don't think the other half would forgive me :p

Ah gutting.

I'd have jumped at the chance to take them off you as we lost our 2 cats 2 years ago, but alas, we wouldn't be able to give them the time and love they deserve at the moment due to too many things going on at home (health, recent redundancy etc) :(

No that's fine. I don't need to work anyway. But thanks for all the help.

@Haggisman We've actually had a discussion this side about whether we could take them. We've been talking about maybe getting a rescue kitten. But we probably can't give kittens the attention they need right now and really don't know how our elderly cat would react. We don't want to take the chance of ruining her final few years. But I really hope they go to a good home. Poor things.

Yeah, it's always a risk introducing them if she's been used to being on her own so far, easier when they're younger, but as you say, if she's quite old it would be a big change to adapt to for her (and she probably wouldn't appreciate being pounced on and expected to play at all hours! :p ).

Going to stick something in the newsletter at work tomorrow and see if hopefully someone is interested :)

They always are. They often won't take cats unless there is an emergency. I am a little surprised, though, because kittens are easiest to rehome.

Also, ask Cats Protection to pay for the snip. If you add £25 ea for the chips, then it's not so bad. Cats Protection are usually more than eager to pay for snips.

Cats Protection finally got back to me late last night, just a standard copy-paste response by the look of it. We're not eligible for any of their standard neutering vouchers, so I'm not sure if they'll help us. Probably need to phone them again and see if I can actually speak to someone.

Yes, do that. There is a world of difference when you speak to them. Just tell them stories about how cute they are and by the time they are on their fifth "Awwwww!" they are ready to agree to almost anything!

:p

The local branch have referred us to the national neutering helpline, I've just spoken to them, and they said we need to speak to the local branch... They are going to speak to the branch directly for us though and get them to look at our request properly...

Does anyone have any food recommendations for my two incoming ragdoll kittens?

Was going to start them on whiskas wet pouches of kitten food, but I have been doing some research and a lot of people say whiskas is akin to eating MacDonalds every day :p

With two of them to feed, I don't really want to be buying the super expensive posh stuff at over £1 a pouch.
