Solves the problem with Rooney and your lack of midfield players ;)

You now get to play one isolated up front and Rooney will play in the middle :D

It is a qualifier. The games, if won, allow a team to participate in the Champions League..the losers do not. The Qualifier and Playoff Stages determine your eligibility to compete in the Champions League proper if you can not meet the domestic league place finish criteria. You can beg to differ all you like, the definition of the word Qualifier really says it all.

If you do not qualify, you do not compete and Moyes did not Qualify.

What you are saying is the same as suggesting that if a team plays in the Football League play-offs then they have competed in the league above them...which is nonsense.

Think what you like. :)

It's not the same as the playoffs. Despite it's moniker, The Champions League still a cup competition. It's much like playing in the FA Cup before the 1st round proper. The games are still part of the FA Cup, in the same way that Champions League qualifiers are part of the Champions League competition.

You can emphasise "qualifier" as much as you like.

When we're floundering around at the end of August with no manager there's only one person to blame.

Asked if discussions with possible replacements had occurred, Kenwright said: "Does the phone ring? Yes. What is my response? My response is very simple - Everton Football Club has its manager."

I can't wait for this summer!

Has David Moyes ever won anything of note?

4th place trophy.

The Times:

David Moyes will be named as the new manager of Manchester United in the next 24 hours. The Barclays Premier League champions have agreed to appoint the Everton manager as Sir Alex Ferguson’s replacement at Old Trafford.

Suggestion is that the #MUFC players were told the identity of their new manager at training this morning.

If this is true then surely we will find out at 2:30 once the NY exchange bell goes ding ding ding.

Haters gonna hate, moyes will do a fine job

I'm certainly willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, he wouldn't of been my first choice but it is what it is. What we don't want is supporters not willing to back the new manager like the Liverpool supporters did with Hodgson and Chelsea supporters with Benitez

Hodgson was backed a fair bit oringinally dont chat ****

Moyes is hardly going to attract world class players is he and he's never won a trophy. Terrible choice in my opinion.

Why are people saying this? United are arguably the biggest club in the world, they can offer big money, big wages, have a league winning squad already. Even if Moyes only won the FA Cup or something in his first season they will still attract players during the summer and next summer no matter who the manager is. His core abilities are similar to SAF which is what United are looking for, they don't want a change they want exactly the same.
