Sir Alex Ferguson Retires

The bit he was talking about is true though. Very few Man Utd fans know what's it's like to go a couple of seasons without winning anything, and I'd bet my life on it that if it happens, they will be screaming for Moyes out.

Wouldn't surprise me if he gets booed for his first loss tbh.

Well of course they will, this isn't Spurs or West Brom we are talking about, this is Manchester united.

He will have to earn the right to go a couple of seasons without winning anything by winning stuff before hand.

If he gets off to an uninspiring start and wins nothing for two seasons make no mistake he will be gone.

People can spout all the guff they want about hos that's not the way United work, well I've got news for you Manchester United isn't the club it was 26 years ago, it's now a worldwide brand and one of the world's football powerhouses.
There is no way on this earth he will be given "time" to achieve something with a squad that's just won the league.

Exactly (wipes milk)

and a lot of united fans have known nothing but ferguson. expect them to swap allegiance to chelsea or city over the next few years.

man utd losing their ace card. should be interesting. good luck moyes, you're going to need it.

I've swapped already, I support Dortmund now. Of course, they have always been my second side because I watch so many of their games and I know they play such attractive football so it was the natural choice.

Liverpool fans have been mocking all week, 'The Greatest Everton Manager never to win anything' Yet he has delivered Everton's most stable period on limited resources whilst their neighbors have consistently spent more and are they any better off for it ?

Better off for it what way?

He's shown he can produce effective, value for money football. What remains to be seen in Moyes is if he can produce a winning football team. And if they're not a winning side, can they be an entertaining, true footballing side. He produced neither at Goodison. Never mind both.

He's also about to find out what Rafa meant by Everton being a "smaller club".

lol, I can't see many switching to Chelsea or City :D

To be fair G|mp does have history... Just re-reading that thread makes me grin.

For the little it is worth I think whoever replaces Sir Alex is always likely to be on a bit of a hiding to nothing - if they do well then I'm sure some will argue that it was because of the foundations already in place, if they don't do as well (and as a relative measure that probably means anything other than top two plus a cup or two inside the first few years is viewed as failure) then it's because they're not good enough. I think David Moyes is already a good manager and maybe this will offer him a platform to be an even better one but regardless of that he's done a lot for Everton on a not very substantial budget. Hopefully he does do well and the fans give him a bit of time to adapt as necessary, from the limited information available he does seem like a decent bloke who is extremely passionate about football and has, thus far, conducted himself honourably.

that thread is gold

You sir, are right! And for those of you who don't know this ditty, it's to the tune of Aggadoo :

Anderson-son-son
He's better than Kleberson
Anderson-son-son
He's our midfield magician
On the left, on the right
to the samba beat tonight,
he is class with a brass,
and he ****s on Fabregas!

Holy **** gimp in that thread LOL

The best thread ever on this place. No matter how ridiculous our posts were, Gustov bought them all.

The post about G|mp being bi is true though - ask JohnnyG!

At least we will win the award of sexiest manager in the league next season.

A hollow gesture if it all goes wrong but I do have a great deal of pride for the club giving a British manager like Moyes a chance, again he may not have been my first choice but then like most supporters you tend to get suckered into who's the latest flavour of the month and who might bring guaranteed instant success rather than looking at the bigger picture

These next two games are going to be difficult though, coming to terms with Fergies retirement is one thing actually saying goodbye to him though is something else :(
