If you could ask fergie one question about his reign, what would it be?
Mine would always be, why no bids for batistuta and rui Costa?
It did feel weird watching the videos of both his and Moyes goodbyes. It will be even stranger wanting United to win everything and every game not against Everton because I would love to see Moyes succeed.
I've been quite vocal that I liked City being able to challenge them so it will really be strange next year wanting a close title but Moyes to prove the doubters wrong![]()

Jesus. Last one leaving Goodison, please turn out the lights.
Parade live tonight at 5:30pm on MUTV.
Yeah it would be much more healthy to hope Moyes fails, I found his football frustrating at times especially with forwards but I like him and hope he has continued success if only to wind up those fans on here that have already written him off. Is that really so bad. I'm too old and cynical about footballers to hate teams.![]()
I was a big fan of Benitez at Liverpool. I wouldn't go anywhere near wanting him to succeed at Chelsea to "prove the doubters wrong" though. That would just be mental. I'd be a Chelsea supporter by proxy if I did.
Wanting to see Moyes succeed there goes well beyond that though. You might as well go with him.
You hear that Purdy old bean!![]()
BBC Sports said:Julien Laurens, football journalist for French newspaper Le Parisien, says on Twitter: "Very reliable sources tell Le Parisien that Sir Alex Ferguson called Carlo Ancelotti last week to ask him to succeed him. He was surprised and flattered but politely declined the offer. So Sir Alex Ferguson then turned to second choice David Moyes."
