*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

I'm out of contract but not sure to do with these new services coming along. Do you think I should call and get a discount, or worth waiting and see if I can get a deal with the new boxes?

And again, I've NOT heard of any price rises within the next few months. As bills go out 14 days in advance and Sky is paid for in advance any price rise would be communicated to customer facing staff a minimum of two months before it happens. Often we get advised of an impending rise earlier than that but the actual pricing is only released two months before. There have been NO rumours that I've heard, either officially or through the grapevine.

Line rental etc apparently increasing on 1st December and now they also have said they want to increase TV packages again too.

What I'd like to see on this new box is 'streaming' so when the weather is bad it just streams the channel instead of having to sit through choppy audio/picture.

Plus, I live in an apartment with one feed.

Everyone should know about the LR price increase by now so it's not anything new.

As I expected, NO word on price rises announced today. Sky only put prices up once a year so if anything is planned it'll be next year at the earliest.

Cancelled Sky TV today which comes into effect on the 20th of next month. I barely watch any TV on it, only sports now and then. I can get what I want via the YouView app on my PS4, such as the F1 or the odd premier league games. Yes I know it's only 720p but it's not that bad.

As for BT Sport, well, I'll just do without, nearly £25 a month is a rip off. Monthly bill will go from just under £100 for everything to £46 for phone and broadband only. I actually plan on sorting that as well, I only get 45 mbit down so I'll drop from Fibre Pro to normal fibre which means I'll save a further £10.

I pay about £60 per month for
HD family
Multi room
Fibre
Phone

Seriously mulling just a basic broadband deal these days

I don't watch any of the entertainment or movies. The only stuff I watch is the terestrial channels, all of which are covered on FreeView/FreeSat including HD. Sports can be pay per view for £7 I think. I'd rather have the money in the bank for more beer tokens. :)

My prob is
Blacklist
V8 super cars
WEC
Penny dreadful

However £400 extra per year ish in bank always nice.

Personally I can never understand how so many people enjoy the main channels. It is always trash.

Cancelled mine the other week, have another 2 weeks then no sky. I was going to switch over to Virgin but ive decided against that as well.

Most of my viewing these days is through my HTPC running Kodi or my PS4 and Netflix. Seemed crazy to be paying so much for the 4 or 5 programs I watch.

My TV has freesat built in so ill use that for a bit. If I can manage with the few channels ill be without, but im missing the ability to record and playback when I want to then ill by a Humax freesat box.

I'm cancelling this weekend. I'll only miss sports as it's all I use Sky for. With FTTH I never record anymore, either. May as well PAYG for the odd sports fixture as over the year it won't add up to what I spend on Sky currently, even with 50% off.

Cancelled today took 5mins.used the old moving back in with parents trick or they keep you for about 20mins on phone.
After cancelling I logged in and it's 50% of any package... Won't be rejoining though.

Just cancelled ours on live chat. We were paying £22 for everything on TV...from December it was going up to £75. Best they could do was £63.50 and that was after dropping movies as it's rarely used. I laughed off their offer, reminding them that 50% off was quite easily available at the very least and proceeded with the cancellation.

Who the hell pays these prices?!
