*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

haha, can't hurt to ask :p

But I'll see what they offer and if it's no good I'll go through with the cancellation

So you havent even put the cancellation in yet? you will be lucky to get a few quid a month off.

They wont even offer you 50%, but you never know.

Keep us all in the loop ;)

I think we are just going to cut it anyway. Had sky for years, been on a discounted deal for ten months with full price for the last two but really, having fibre we are quite happy with Now tv, Netflix, and maybe even Amazon prime.

Trust sent to you MissChief.

Looking to sort my first ever sky package!

Hopefully theres some good deals to be done for us new guys!

I am also considering cut my cable TV, there are bunch of TV Box options there, Roku TV supports 4K now. and the budget brand Tronfy tv box works fine, X6 is better for gaming the the box using Amlogic S812.

Note NOWTV only supports 720p even on the higher end Roku boxes and it's own boxes. Good enough for me but just want to make sure you aren't disappointed.

Ok so got a call yesterday from Sky on a Derby number and they offered free Sky basic package for a6 months and £8 a month after that. No contract too! Not too bad me thinks so will take them up and cancel after 6 months!

I'm moving into our new flat on the 20th of November and would like Sky broadband/TV. Any good codes/packages out there for new customers? I've done a comparison online and the deals arn't all that tempting.

I'd be wary of when they say "No Contract" as technically there is a contract even though they are giving you the basic package for free.

Is there any way of getting out of a sky contract?

We are getting literally the worst deal possible. £100 a month for entertainment + sports channels broadband and phone. Just found out that we have to pay for phone calls (only free to landlines on weekend) and our internet is pathetic, constantly getting massive slowdown, this all after taking 2 months to actually get working internet when we moved in.

My whole experience with Sky here has been crap tbh

That rang some alarm bells as I didn't think of it that way - thanks!

Gave them a call and they confirmed, no contract! Due to end in April next year so will cancel

How long are you into your contract? Worst case scenario buy yourself out of it?

Just received a letter in the post about cancellation charges with BB & Phone.

Just changed from SKY to TalkTalk. I recieved a text last month after I had placed the initial order with Talk Talk to call them and discuss the order as there would be cancellation charges.

Called up spoke to someone is CS, explained I had received the text however was unaware I was in any contract (moved house and kept with sky on the home move, assuming no new contract was made...otherwise would have gone elsewhere) however they lady on the end of the phone confirmed that there was no fees to pay.

Fast forward today and I have a letter dated 3rd November stating I now have to pay £73 in total!

Do I need to endure another 60 call or is there any email addresses I can write to and say stick your cancellation fee up your backside?

You would have to buy at least the basic package and then add the sports. If you get the 60% off offer after cancellation you should be able to get that for under £30 p/m (inc. HD).
