*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

Yes, the 10Mbit one, but it still has to download them, no different to Sky.

According to Virgin its streamed and cannot be downloaded. It is buffered by the TiVo box but is not stored on the box.

Sky you download the episodes to the box.

In which case I stand corrected, but the basic premise is the same in which they're not pre downloaded onto the box.

Why are the live games a problem? Nowtv does both catchup and live.

I probably watch too much sport dotted about over the month to make the way it's billed on NowTV make sense for me. £32 for a month pass is about what I pay for Sky!

My comment was aimed more towards those who pay that, and more, for Sky without sports. I have friends who are paying for Sky largely to record programmes shown on terrestrial TV when they could be accessing them for free on demand.

Any codes for existing customers Misschief ? My new GF has 3 boxes and is paying £70 a month .. for everything except sport

Tell her to phone up and cancel, if she's out of contract. She'll more than likely find a 'come back to sky for 50% off' offer next time she logs in to 'my sky'

I cancelled, even though I didn't really want to, just over 2 weeks ago since their offer to keep me was derisory and meant I'd be paying more. Saw this just now and solved all my problems. Cheers!

I just cancelled, 'only' took 10 mins. Didn't really try to keep me and the usual 50% off offer has appeared when I log in to my account. Decisions, decisions ;)

I now have the 50% offer on my account. Pretty happy with my Openbox for now though, most of my viewing is done via Netflix and Prime.

Most of mine is netflix even though I have kodi, prime and sky. Only use sky for the HD football and a bit of live tv when choosing what to watch becomes a chore.

Yeah Sports is the only reason I had Sky really, but I tend to go to the pub now when the football is on and I can live without the F1 - it's been quite boring lately.

For what little I used it, I'm happier with the £50 in my pocket each month (BT Sport HD included in that).

That's fair enough! I'm happy to since we do not get any sort of fibre in our area sadly and with the 8.5mb internet I can barely consistently hold a video of HD quality on the NBC live sports extra site, otherwise I'd be very tempted to do the same.
