*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

It's not £10 anyway, because that doesn't give you Sky with HD does it? I look in my account and it looks as if with 50% off I'm paying £28 a month to get Sports with HD. For once or twice a month at a push, that is not worth it!

I still can't believe they charge HD as an extra, it's a complete joke. Guesss they'll charge 4k at 4x the price too! :p

They did provide me with beer once! That Heineken keg and snacks promotion for a champions league final a few years back

Imposter!

Anyway is there really no way I can get out of a sky contract early without having to pay any more money? getting sick of my £130 a month bill

I cancelled at the start of January and this was my core problem.

I am lucky enough to have a cinema room with a 120" screen and to put a second box in this room to watch the occasional Newcastle match that gets shown is :

Extra box £10 a month , HD £10 a month (can hardly watch SD on a 120") plus sports £25.50.

So £45 EXTRA! a month for maybe 2 games 3 if I am very lucky.

I just do not even see how they could win me back as a customer.

Now TV day passes at least get me a 720 feed at about £3.50 a match.

Err multiscreen is £10 for a mirror of whatever you have elsewhere, you dont need to subscribe to the sports etc again :p

err yes ?

You make the assumption I already had sports. I had the basic pack for 20 ish quid.

To add sports in HD to anther room jumps the price from £20 a month to £60+ a joke amount for what is basically Sky one , Atlantic and Sport (of which I am only really interested in NUFC and occasional euro games).

I've tried for about the 3rd time to persuade the wife to cancell sky tv. It's her account and my name is not on it. Were paying about £68 a month and addition to this we have Netflix and Amazon at the moment. I'm not watching Sky and neither is the wife, we end up just watching repeats on the Cartoon Network with the kids.

I showed her this thread and told her I want to cancel, she has now logged into her account and tried to cancel sky. Sky offered her £20 off and she has just signed up for another 6 months:( It beggers belief.

I've just seen an advert on Sky movies where they're offering 35% off for 1 year for existing customers, search "Stay with Sky" apparently.

Well I have just checked the sky package the £20 off a month is actually £10 per month and the contract term is not 6 month but is 12 month.

about 1½ weeks till cut off, ive had a few missed calls from them, now had an email offering 50% off and £50 credit........ hmmm

This is exactly what I took them up on. They also gave me 50% off the HD part since he couldn't apply the 2 free months for Sky Go Extra. If I cancel Sky Go Extra works out 5 quid cheaper a month but it gets very well used (Surface Pro 4, Xbox One and a couple of laptops).

Cancelled Sky as they couldn't get anywhere near TalkTalk's deal. I've now received a letter two days before my live date effectively offering around £1.30 a month less than TalkTalk, including 50% off and £50 credit, but without unlimited fibre (that would be an extra £10 a month).

Do Sky honestly believe I'll accept their offer?
