*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

Cancelled my 'Variety + HD' Pack in September 2015 which initially cost me around £25pm in 2011 and crept slowly up to £31, told them to Foxtrot Oscar when £33 came through the door last year.

Just finished some professional studies so have time to kill now and saw they had some 50% off bundle offers on their website. Also spotted Quidco offering £110 off the 'Family Bundle' (equivalent to what I had previously).

Couldn't proceed on the website so gave them a call. I thought I'd left over a year ago but was actually 7 months.

They were unwilling to match what Quidco were offering but did give a £50 account credit which brings the average monthly cost down to £14.83 until March 2017. Standard half price bundle would be £19pm. Happy enough with that :)

Cancelled my Sky Subscription again.

Hi all,

I had a great 25 year anniversary deal that was costing me £33 for two HD boxes per month.

When this deal runs out the price would have been £82

No way will I pay that much for sky, so I decided to cancel again last month and my subscription comes to an end today.

The best offer they made was 35%, I told them to call me back once they offer me either 50% or 75% off.

What kind of offers are Sky giving out nowadays? Is there still a chance of 50% or 75% off deals or are these now finished?

When I called to cancel I was offered 35% off, as soon as I was cut off it jumped to 50% off. The online chat could only offer 50% off and £50 credit, last month they ran a full package for £25 so waiting for a similar offer to come around again. Didn't get any retention phonecalls, obviously with SkyQ being launched keeping cheap subscribers is not a priority.

yep those full package for £25 are good deals
just don't come around often

I left too, ended this month. Had loads of offers, but they need to update their seriously outdated business model. I'm not paying £40 odd a month for a load of old cack because they have to claw back the ridiculous amounts due to over paying for football and pushing prices ever higher to the benefit of no one except footballers. I have to subsidise sky sports football even though I'm not having it. Screw that, come back to me when you can offer me a non football/movies package for £15-20 permanently.

We also had the insane 25 year deal, £25 for 25 months, which is due to run out so I also cancelled Sky today. They couldn't offer me much at all.

Looking at alternatives now, I'm thinking a Youview box and then Now TV (for sky atlantic) and Netflix.

great deal wasn't it!?

I got it from a friend who worked for sky
he no longer works there but I get the impression sky employees get special codes for the best offers out there.

Indeed it was, couldn't believe it has been 25 months already though! When they called you did you end up staying or still leave,?

I had the 67% off deal for a year (£25) for the complete package, this came to an end last month. I let sky stop the service, a day later the same deal appeared on my account. Redeemed the offer straightaway.

I left- services will stop today or tomorrow.

Love the way they threaten you "you do realise all of your recorded content will not be viewable?" hahaha
like that bothers me

lucky you - I still only see 25% off deal
not good enough for me.

My Sky service ends tomorrow since I've cancelled it. When I got home from work yesterday there was a letter from Sky waiting for me. Expecting it to be an enticement to stay I was slightly irritated to find it was in fact telling me that the price of my plan is going up by two quid in June. They sure know how to get their customers back... not.

My contract is up next month ,phoned Sky and they was useless to offer me a better contract so i am leaving in May , most disappointed as ive been a loyal customer for years

I shall keep on my broadband service and telephone
