*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

Just buy one of those boxes off ebay, mine is flawless and has everything, I pay for sky and the box sits upstairs hardly used .... oops did i just say that....
The point being that even with ALL the channels free I dont save a bean because we don't watch much TV... seriously though - those boxes are Skys Achilles.

Perhaps some people are averse to breaking the law?

If I were a thieving scumbag who felt the world owed me a living then I too could probably get all the TV I want....for free.
However as I don't. As I feel I should pay for the goods and services I use I instead just like to try and get the best, legitimate deal I can.

Just had the letter. Going up £3.30 a month from June. Looks like I'm finally going to get round to doing that call. Still not figured out why they sent me a cheque for £64.00. Was rather nice of them doing that though as that will cover the changes anyway :) Still on an old sd white pace box here (40 gig was it? MOTD takes up about 13 percent!).

Either phone them and get a decent discount or switch to Q Silver which, with two mini boxes and Sports/Movies, would still be cheaper.

Q Silver ayy, is that actually a worthy 'upgrade' to the Sky+ HD box?

I was also looking at swapping out one of the really old Sky boxes with a newer Sky HD box, but it seems that the sky card might not work in the new box? Something about needing to be re-registered?

Is there a way to get a new Sky box without it being refurbished and without having to pay through the nose for it? I think mines starting to pack in as the movement gets quite juddery on some programmes at times, it's not the tv as it occurs on two different ones.

had a phone call of retentions so to speak

was offered about what I think is stock offer

so 35% off for 12 months, no contract, and 50 credit so went with it

we weren't using movies much at all - so removed that - we have Netflix, Amazon Prime etc anyway

so I think the main channels inc HD + Sky Go Extra worked out at 29 ish a month

well my is set to finish at the end of may.
we are moving houses so we will see if we can get a decent deal at the new place.

Signed up to a 12 months friends and family deal and just got the letter saying we have to pay an extra £5 a month. WTF is that about?!
