*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

Raging!! Phone up to cancel sky got though all my details and checks to be told the line was not very clear and she ring back in 3 mins... That was yesterday grrrrr

least you got through to someone, when i was trying to cancel my bt line it took half an hour of trying on their cancel line which would put me on hold and disconnect me after 5 mins of waiting, and when i finally got through to someone it was a extreamly rude woman who tried to give me the same numbers id tried before.

after that i gave up and got sky to transfer it all over but iv never known a company act like bt do when you try to leave them.

I thought I would give sky a call earlier to see if they had any offers to tempt me back.

Nope, no offers, nothing, so that's that then lol.

Wait, you are likely to get a leaflet through the post soon. It took 30+ days for mine, I nearly caved and signed back up as well but though nah just leave it. Two days later I was glad I did. :)

Why were you glad? A better deal or just glad not to sign back up?

Glad I waited as 2 days later I got 50% off for 12months. I'd of paid full price if I caved in, as once you sign back up at full price it's hard to get them to honer the half price deal.

Just received a letter from sky "is there something more we can do ?"

No offers though lol.

I really wish you could just purchase the F1 channel on its own, that's all I want to watch really.

well after i cancelled sky last week they have just phoned me up and gave me a better deal than i had before so iv just resigned with them and saved a couple of quid to boot.

well i was getting everything apart from movies for £34.50, when i cancelled they where adamant they couldnt do anything less than £45. now iv got it for £32.35, didnt take anything more than the guy from sky just going through the deals and sorting it.

Just at the Gfs patents
there's definitely no point in sky, nothing worth watching except repeats really.
Sometimes.. Like f1..you have to pay for to much to get what you want

Bbc are worse however.. Not having the option to opt out with the current technology we have

You can opt out of the BBC. Don't watch any Live TV.

Just canceled my sky, I was offered 30% off for 3 months, the grumpy Scottish woman was completely dismissive on the phone and acted uninterested.

Currently looking at Virgin offers.

thats clearly lies as sky never have traffic shaping

No they just have an absolutely abysmal broadband services. You couldnt get that many disconnects, slowdowns and stalling with traffic shaping, only pure incompetence and mis-management of your network could help you achieve that level of **** poor service. yes it is unlimitted..unlimitted pain and perjury trying to get a stable and reliable broadband service. 7 years with Be* I had one service dropout. Since being with sky I get at least a monthly 2 day loss of service- 3 modems, 10 microfilters, 6 cables and still they wont accept that it is an exchange problem and not my network at home.

Well finally got though to sky and canceled :D

Woman was pretty nice on the phone. Was offered 15 odd pound off my bill for 3 months but the bill was still coming in at 60 odd quid.

Got told there be no amazing offers coming though the post etc

Sit tight, they'll come through. I was away for 4 months before being tempted back with 12 months at half price.
