I have just rang SKY to cancel my sub. And they didnt even try to talk me in to staying. lol
I paid a fair whack (probably around £150-£200) for the FreeSat box which is the Humax HDR-1000S.
It's still just as 'cutting edge' as any Sky box. 1TB of HDD space, I can record series, rewind, pause, all the usual stuff. It's hooked up to my wifi and will stream movies from my PC/NAS, has apps for YouTube, BBC iplayer etc. There are occasional firmware updates which push through automatically.
I think the FreeSat boxes hold their value quite well so wouldn't be a massive hit if you went back to Sky in the future.
The main reason i didnt get quidco last time was that i wasnt sure on the compatibility with it and a F&F code (which reduces the rental by half to that £16.50), and also iirc it relied on other services.
Ive got my VDSL elsewhere, and i really do not want to mix the services as it causes disruption with being a new TV customer every year![]()
Never cancel over the online chat
1 hour it has took me![]()
They do but Customer Churn is down to its lowest level in about five years and Sky have actually gained customers every quarter for about the same period. Sky don't feel they have to throw offers at customers to stay when for every customer than leaves they get two joining. (much simplified, I don't believe that's actually the ratio but you get the drift)
So we're moving. Rang Sky and the outcome is that it'll cost us £25 and there are no deals.
I ******* hate this.
In all honesty, i'm considering just illegally downloading HD versions and/or streaming favourite shows. Surely these companies want to avoid this?
Surely the best thing to do when moving house is to cancel (if you are out of contract) and then sign up for a nice fresh deal at the new property?![]()
